You need to call the CS to link it . My personal experience.

Previously CIMB gave me visa signature together with zing card.
The benefits are not that good for me as I do not travel often.

Is it possible to switch to another CIMB credit card like CIMB cashback cc?
*
They offered me Cimb VS previously as well. I rejected. Don't see any benefit... Going to cancel my Cimb petronas cc also. Useless

Between cash rebate platinum mastercard, Petronas platinum mastercard, platinum mastercard, visa platinum, which would you guys recommend?
*
Don't apply petronas platinum. It is totally useless. They called and offer me many years ago. I am so stupid to take it up. If you want cash back, then take cash rebate platinum.

Yeah but Cimb charges 0.8% for sure.
But with Plat, i get back 7% so it's 6.2% effective biggrin.gif
Very normal for agents to do that.

To get extra commission, they say.

My gf got 4-5 cards from UOB from 1 application.

My practice is when the moment they ask me to sign on the form, I will automatic cut off all other cards and put NA (not applicable). So they won't have chance to add in. Only there was a time, the CS take out another form and beg to to apply for the debit card. I applied by signed on it. ( but she promise will pay the AF and she did) But in future , I will just be thick face and say no. Because now I was stuck with the debit card which I can't terminate it due to term and condition.

Currently I am holding petronas platinum cash back card. I plan to cancel it and apply cash back card for its online rebate features. Could I know whether the rebate include utilities? Anyone else holding this card can give some pros and cons comments?

Online category doesn't include utilities, airlines and insurance.

Utilities can earn 2% provided you subscribe to auto debit/auto pay.

Others category is 0.2%. The Petronas card gives 0.5% on others category IIRC.

So payment under payonline didn't entitled for any cash back? How about paying Astro under Astro portal ?

For the mean time, only that one is validated by one forumer here. I don't have ASTRO so I can't confirm.

Pay TM bills at TM portal and UOB payonline won't get it as this one I have validated myself.

Pay DiGi bills at DiGi portal (old) and UOB payonline also the same.

Pay Celcom bill at Celcom portal also won't earn too.

Same goes to Maxis bill at Maxis website.

The current experiment that I'm trying is auto-debit/auto-pay TM bill.
*
Thanks for your extensive explaination. Basically no rebate on utilities. Auto debit not a good option as we can't control the usage and rebate

Conclusion:

Astro bill at Astro portal ---> YES: Earn 5% cash back under online category
TM bill at TM portal ---> NO: Won't earn 5% cash back under online category or 2% cash back under utilities category

I'm testing TM bill autopaying. Sign up last month at CIMBClicks, debitted this month and will monitor upcoming statement (unbilled).

Good. So finally I found some useful benefit from CIMB. Tomorrow will call to CS to apply the cc

which card to choose ? all platinum now .....was interested on the cash rebate card or petronas which i use to pump petrol mostly
*
No petronas card please. It is useless. For pumping petrol and Annual income not so high, suggest UOB one card or you preferred CIMB, then go for cash rebate card --2% everyday for petrol plus other benefit

That means I still need to pay the amount in the current statement (where there is a due date in this month) even though the rebate will only be reflected next month?
*
Yes. You should pay the amount stated in the statement

Wa the forever it wont go below RM 50? If I cancel the card will I get back the RM50?

Just share with you also. I lost my zing card twice over past years. After I report lost card, the bank are not able to block the card immediately. Because there was reload transactions after I report lost. When I called in and inform the CS that on the date of transaction, I have report lost. The standard answer is the reload transaction was 3 weeks before. Posting date is late. This is the excuses that I totally can't accept ESP it happened repeatedly. My suggestion in don't hold Zing Card. And each reload also it charge RM 1.50 which is too high. My personal opinion.
**i cancelled my zing card a month ago

I lodged a complaint to BNM regarding this issue ( Apply for 1, get 2 or 3 instead ).

Till today heard nothing from them.

I also lodged another report regarding errand merchants who are forcing people to use a certain amount / merchant who charges % on CC usages.

Again, no reply.

Am a little disappointed that the regulatory body is not doing enough to curb such behaviors.

👍 let us know the outcome if you receive reply!!!

So the total charges would be cross border fee + admin fee + master rate?
*
Cross border fee will be charged only if you pay in RM. if you pay in foreign currency, then they will charge admin fee + master rate
