hmm...i did tried google-ing the internet on gps services here..but sumhow i cant find the answer..
1) dose gps service fee??or do they have bills like internet/phone where we have to pay every month??
2) I saw in internet there so much gps receiver they are selling..so what is the recommended..and what is the main characteristic to find a suitble gps>>i use for navigate road..
3)what is the fisrts step that i hv 2 take now???considering that im now in betong sarawak where people here has no idea wut GPS is..
*
1) GPS only free, A-GPS need to pay on usage basis
2) If you are planning to use Mobile XT software my recommendation buy Garmin Mobile 10x very simple to use with the software.
3) I suggest you to visit either Malsingmaps.com or Malfreemaps.com for more exposure on GPS.

1. You can read more about A-GPS here...
2. Mobile 10x was BT GPS receiver. You can connect it to Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm phone and you can use Mobile XT for free. Navigation software and map will be install on the phone.

@mr.wokayyy: bro, i have read some where else that papago community is bigger than garmin...this means that papago map are updated more often compared to garmin...is this true...

and y you say that can't go wrong with garmin...issit because of the UI ??

For Malaysia I think Garmin have the largest community for time being... Since currently most of the site offered Garmin map. And you can get updated for Garmin every week at MFM.

Maybe i shud start by knowing how many GPS software we had in the market now? which 1 is more user friendly and more functions?
what is the current trend function?

You want to buy a standalone GPS device or just only GPS software. If only GPS navigation software what is your current set-up?

Anyone tried using an extension GPS antenna for HTC P3600 or Mio P550? Trying to avoid having the phone/PDA under direct sunlight while driving. My HTC P3600 sometimes hangs and battery refuse to charge when its over heats.
*
Does that device have jack for external antenna? For external antenna I think it hard for you to get it in Malaysia. Maybe you can look around at the web. The other thing you can do was put your device higher close to your roof, I do that with my N85 and no problem getting good signal and my device was protected from the hot sun.
