This is something that Cerato owner may not realize without looking through the manual

Defogging Logic is to reduce the probability of fogging up the inside of the windshield, the air intake or air conditioning are controlled automatically according to certain conditions when using defroster.

Simply every time when you turn off the A/C, it switches from recirculated air position to outside (fresh) air position, so , one has to select recirculated air position again to prevent outside air from getting in.

So deactivation defogging logic stop it from switching automatically everytime. Please follow the steps as shown in the guide in the picture below, if you have this issue.

So the claimed update in 1.6 is true?
does those applies to 2.0 as well?
haven get chance to test anyone yet but interested with 2.0
*
The changes with rear fog lamps and head lamp leveller only apply for the 1.6 models and not the 2.0. Most welcome to visit my showroom for test drive. Cyberjaya is just nearby. Cheers.

Hi. I have a crack on my windscreen thanks to a rock just now, where can i possibly fix it (with insurance) and is it ok if I delay the repair? As in fix it later when my schedule is free?
*
Sorry to hear of the stone crack.

If you have insured your windscreen of at least 3K, you can have it changed at any Naza Kia authorised SC that process insurance claims such as at Red Cube, Glenmarie, Puchong or Setapak

Otherwise, you can also replace it at other windscreen shops such as Dr Cermin or Dr Windscreen at lesser than RM2500. If you have done any tinting, some shops can even help you to claim for partial compensation for the tint too. Do discuss this with the shop directly.

You may delay the repair if there is no crack line that may potentially spread and cause the whole windscreen to collapse or shatter in pieces. Usually, you tint may still help to hold it in place, if the stone crack is isolated and windscreen appear to be stable.

Can anyone share how does the Auto reset meter works? i tried to set it on auto and i read manual said atleast pump 6L of fuel for it to work. I tried 2 times, 1 time is off engine and pump full tank. The meter does not auto reset. So i thought need to have the engine on to have it work. 2nd time also pump full tank, same nothing happens. I have to manually reset the AVG/L meter.
*
No problem for the Auto Average Fuel Eco reset for my test drive Cerato, as shown in picture below.

Steps :
1) Set the Average Fuel Eco to auto mode.
2) Turn Off Engine
3) Fill petrol about 8L
4) Start engine, wait for 2-3 seconds before the reading auto reset.

To all existing KIA Cerato owners, please beware that there has been a recent spate of theft cases of Cerato rims and tyres. I have heard from 2 customers who had their rims stolen.

Please take preventive action such as
1) Parking at a secured and brightly lit place with high traffic and not at a secluded spot.
2) Fix anti theft lock nuts as prevention or deterrant.

Consider to insure your rims and tyres (if you think you are at high risk), under accessories cover. In case your rims are stolen, you are able to claim without loosing your NCB. The premium payable is 15% of the sum insured. For instance, if you insure RM5,000, premium payable is RM750 per annum.

Please note the original Cerato rim cost more than 2K per piece, so it is imperative that you take necessary precaution against such losses and inconvenience.

Honestly speaking, if a set of 4 cost RM8k I would not hesitant to get myself a premium Japanese brand outside rather to pay them to SC to bring back another set of 4 of the same design. Not to mention the original RIM is just too heavy.
*
Well, what if you only loose 2 instead of 4? If you loose one, you can still use the spare one from the boot, but if you loose 2, you need to buy at least 1 new one, instead of changing all 4, right?

One question here, if I were to claim/change my front windscreen anywhere other than SC, how would I know it is genuine KIA Cerato front windscreen?

Pricing varies from shop to shop outside and ppl is saying that is because the origin is different. China, local, Korea made are all available at different pricing.

How to know if the windscreen is original KIA Korea made?
*
You wouldn't know for sure as windscreen from other sources look exactly the same, with KIA logo etching etc. There is definately no local-made windscreen , as the volume is insufficient to justity local production. That means , the windscreen can either come from China or Korea. For all we know, the one coming from Korea could be outsourced from China too, as we are all aware of, most of the things we use are made in China these days.

There is no specific reason to suspect that one source of windscreen will be more durable than the other. However, the primary concern when changing the front windscreen is how it affects the smoothness of the wipers. If the curvature of the windscreen is somewhat imperfect, your wipers may not be as smooth or will make some disturbing sound. If you face such a problem, you will need to ask the supplier if they are willing to change to a completely new one to solve this issue.

So meaning to say if were to change from any of the windscreen shop, eventually the quality might be almost same as SC panel workshop?
*
I am not able to answer this question, as I do not know where the outside windscreen shop get their supply from. The only assurance I would advice is that you must check if the shop provide any warranty in case the windcreen is defective i.e like the in the case of the wiper being not smooth. I know most Authorised KIA Sc will give such warranty.

Hmmm.... so is that the only warranty coverage against uneven surface? I mean no other term other than uneven surface?
*
I think Kia SC may give a certain limited time warranty against any cracks after installation due to workmanship. Sometimes, due to uneven pressure which develope as a result of poor installation, there is possibility that the windscreen may crack on its own after leaving the workshop. Best to consult the SC concerned for the specific details. Most outside workshops will not give you this warranty.

How much for changing one original 17" rim at kia?
*
The original 17" rim from Korea cost around RM2.5K. May I ask why do you wish to change? Perhaps, you can save some money by using your spare one instead. However if you really need to replace one, I have one previous customer who had changed his entire set of wheels and is offering his original rims for sale. Do PM me if you wish to buy used original rims.

At the same time, I would like to remind all Cerato users to take precaution against rim theft that has been quite a common occurrence of late. Thieves seem to be targeting Cerato rims due to its high value in the parts market.

There is indication that bank may increase Interest rate for Car Hire-Purchase effective 1st August 2015. Strongly suggest to all who are deciding to buy cars to lock in your loan application this month in order to enjoy the current prevailing rate.

Findings from the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2015 Malaysia Customer Service Index (CSI) Study show a trend – Malaysian vehicles owners are expecting more out of their dealer service experience, but authorised service centres are struggling to keep pace with their rising demands.

The study, now in its 13th year, measures overall service satisfaction among owners who took their vehicle to an authorised service centre for service maintenance and/or repair work during the first 12 to 24 months of ownership. Service satisfaction is rated for mass market brands, so the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus are not included.
The study evaluates new-vehicle owner satisfaction with the service experience by examining dealership performance in five factors (in order of importance): service quality (32%); service initiation (22%); vehicle pick-up (18%); service advisor (15%); and service facility (13%).

Satisfaction among mass market brands averages 749 index points (on a 1,000-point scale) in 2015, which is a five-point decline from 2014. Customers are expecting to receive a higher level of service, overall satisfaction averaging 815 among the 12% of customers who indicate they had a “better-than-expected” service experience, compared with 842 in 2014.

The greatest drop in satisfaction is in service facility, where satisfaction has declined to 773 in 2015 from 785 in 2014. Ease of approach to and convenience of service centres contribute to the decline in satisfaction in the service facility factor. Among the 3% of customers who indicate having a “worse-than-expected” service experience, overall satisfaction is 558, down from 590 in 2014.

“Clearly, customer expectations are on the rise; hence, it is critical for service centres to provide a positive experience throughout, from service initiation, which is gaining importance, to delivering the vehicle back to customers, while remaining focused on delivering service quality,” said Rajaswaran Tharmalingam, Malaysia country head at J.D. Power Asia Pacific.

The study also demonstrates the importance of satisfying customers to improve loyalty and repeat visits. Among mass market brand owners who are highly satisfied with their service experience (815 points up), 42% say they “definitely would” revisit their dealer for post-warranty service, compared with 12% of those who are highly disappointed (698 or lower).

“Service centres must strive to always enhance their service standards, specifically in offering the value-added standards to their customers. This is precisely what delights customers with their service experience,” Rajaswaran added.

Now, how did each brand do? Top of the league is Mazda at 774 points, just one point ahead of Mitsubishi at 773. J.D. Power says that Mazda performs particularly well in the service initiation and service quality factors. Honda completes the podium with 760 points, ahead of fellow Japanese big boys Nissan (758) and Toyota (756). As for national brands, Perodua is above the 749-point mass market average at 753, while Proton is far behind with 726.
The 2015 Malaysia CSI Study is based on responses from 2,812 new owners who purchased their mass market brand vehicle between February 2013 and May 2014 and took their vehicle for service to an authorised service centre between August 2014 and May 2015. The study was fielded between February and May 2015. Agree with what you see?

Just received my RED K3 from Buydirect aka Mr. Loh last week.
Despite having best discount & free gift in town, I am still getting superb service from Mr. Loh.

Really enjoy my ride back to melaka...
my lowest fuel consumption achieved is 7.6L/100km which is not bad.
*
Many thanks for the compliments. Glad that you enjoy the ride and thank you for reporting on the fuel consumption.

May I know which battery brand suit my cerato 2.0 the best? Thanks smile.gif
*
Century is quite reliable. Ultimately, you need to look at the specs of the battery, it must be one that is specified / recommended for K3 2.0.

Yes , it is possible to change, but it will cost you around 2.5K to change both tail lamps.
