Terms and Conditions
The Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Photography Contest 2015 (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest") is organised by the Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad (hereinafter referred to as the "Organiser").
1. By entering the Contest, you hereby warrant that all pictures submitted by you are genuine and current. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all applicants.
2. By entering the Contest, you accept the present terms and conditions.
3. There are two categories enlisted for the Contest, namely the “Seeing is Believing” (SiB) category and “Beautiful Malaysia” (BMsia) category. Each employee can submit a maximum of 5 entries per category.
CATEGORIES:
i. Seeing is Believing – related to visually impaired theme, and is not limited to people, event & related items. More information on Seeing is Believing can be obtained from the website:

4. The Contest is opened to all employees of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad, Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad, Scope International Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Price Solutions Sdn Bhd.
5. The Contest submission is ending on 10 June 2015 by 12pm. Contestants must submit entries their pictures to GTO.MALAYSIA@sc.com. Only submissions submitted through the email will be accepted.
6. All pictures submissions must be submitted in an electronic format to the email address mentioned above containing the following details: (i) personal information of the contestant, i.e. complete name, employee ID, position & department; (ii) each photograph should have a title, the file naming standard will be as Firstname_lastname_category_title, e.g. Alan_Chia_SiB_Colorful View, Nurul_Ashikin_BMsia_Beautiful Island. Failure to adhere to the naming convention for the photographs may result in rejection and disqualification.
7. All pictures to provide caption to convey the circumstances in which the photograph was taken. The caption for the photographs must be complete, accurate and sufficient.
8. Only minor burning, dodging and/or colour correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable. Watermarks on pictures are not acceptable. Any changes to the original Photograph not itemized here are unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for a prize.
9. Submissions of the pictures of the Contest must be original unpublished works that are not currently under review by another contest, be solely owned by the contestant and must not violate the intellectual property rights (IPR) of any party. The picture submitted for consideration should not be offensive or contain elements that may be deemed insensitive or that may contravene the laws of Malaysia.
10. Photographs must be in .jpeg format. Only online entries will be eligible for participation. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photographs need to be taken with a digital camera/ smart phone or scanned images.
11. Photographs must be taken within three (3) years before the date of entry
12. Each image should not be less than 2MB and not more than 8MB and it should be at 300 dpi resolution for submission.
13. The submitted photographs will be uploaded to the Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/scbmyphotographycontest within 72 hours upon submission and a notification email will be send to the contestants. Contestants to get their friends and family to ‘LIKE’ the page and ‘LIKE’ their photographs. The number of ‘LIKE’ will contribute to 50% weightage in winner decision making process. The last day of voting in Facebook page is on 17 June 2015, by 5pm. Winners will be selected by the judging committee formed by the Organiser. The judging committee will contribute to 50% weightage in winner decision making process. Decisions of the Judging Committee are final and conclusive.
14. Top three (3) Contestants will be selected from each category as the winners (the “Winners”) and they will be announced on 24 June 2015 via email or broadcast.
15. The prizes for each category in the contest are:- (i) First Prize- One(1) unit of Canon camera 7D – Body only and a certificate; (ii) Second Prize- One(1) unit of Canon 70D and with (18mm to 55mm) kit lens and a certificate; and (iii) Third Prize- One (1) unit of Canon 60D and with (18mm to 55mm) kit lens and a certificate. In the event of specific models no longer in production, similar value camera model will be substituted.
16. By participating in the Contest, each contestant consents to the Organiser’s use of its submission materials and information, including contestant’s name and photograph and any other related materials for promotional purposes in any media in any jurisdiction, without any payment or consideration from the Organiser.
17. Participation in this Contest shall not modify, transfer or otherwise affect the title, right or ownership of any copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade names, logos or any other Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) existing in any submitted idea. Any and all such rights shall remain the exclusive property of the respective party and/or contestant owning such rights.
18. The Organiser is not granting any IPR protection in connection with the Contest and makes no warranties of any kind related thereto. Contestants are solely responsible for protecting any and all IPR in any submissions and should do so before entering the Contest.
19. Each contestant must disclose all IPR held by, and/or all IPR applications made by, the Participating Team or any other parties, in connection with any submitted products or prototypes, or parts thereof.
20. Each contestant understands and acknowledges that any IPR protection in any submitted photographs may be lost, waived or become the property of the Organiser as a result of participation in the Contest.
21. The Organiser reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry which does not comply with the requirements of this Contest.
22. The Organiser is not responsible for lost, late, corrupted, mutilated or misdirected entries, or entries not received in time for judging.
23. By entering the contest, Contestants grant the Organiser a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose that the Organiser deems fit, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Organiser will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such usage.
24. The Organiser shall have the right, in its sole discretion to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Contest. Any such change will be announced on the Organiser’s website at standardchartered.com.my.
