After sending in the laptop for service and replacing the fan and heatsink, the problem still persists. I read in the msi forums that I could repaste my cpu and gpu. Would it be a good idea? I have a tube of coolermaster extreme fusion X1.

It is not heat sink nor fan problem but thermal management problem.

The best is to under clock. Thermal paste might reduce 3 - 4 celcius

worth a try
are temps above 90c?
if its in 80-90 range it is normal to have to have those temps while gaming

Yea temps go above 90c
Max temps so far are 94 for cpu and 91 for gpu

repasting with correct amount and technique would improve temps 2-5c
thing is manufacturers usually put too much thermal paste and this causes the paste to be an insulator instead of filling the microscopic gaps between the chip and the hearsink
