TM just replaced my old STB with this newer huawei model due to lagging while switching channel problem. However, this new STB gives me a headache. Whenever I try to load the hypptv to watch the TV channel, i noticed the res. downgraded automatically from 1080i to 576i. this makes the HD channels such as Nat Geo and such become blurrier and not clear anymore like before. The thing that baffles me is that the resolution from the homescreen is fulll HD 1080i (16:9) and when I try to use My Application, the res. is still in full HD. the res. it only donwgraded to 576i whenever the hypptv is loaded when i want to watch the TV. I already ask the technician and he said this is the problem that all users facing with this newer STB. I seriously doubt that. Does anyone know how does this happens? I'm a Unifi user btw.

Great news!! TM technician just called me and they have upgraded the android system of this new STB. Now my hypptv channel can be watched in full HD 1080p. Sadly, the android apps can't still be used. Bummer! dry.gif

Have you tried factory reset?
*
Not yet. Is it safe to do that? I don't really want to meddle with the STB. As long as I can watch the hypptv in clear HD quality, it's good enough for me.

Did reset mine,  just need to re-input my hypptv username n password and also select back unifi as the service.  Before you go that route need to know what apps u having issue with?  Are you connected to your wifi and have you tested accessing website using the browser to confirm that you actually have Internet.

Yes the BTU is connected with the wifi. I can use the internet from the browser. Hmm, it appears only youtube app can't be used. Network error 401 or something. The playstore works fine. confused.gif

Have you tried side loading the YouTube apk? I have shared the link earlier. I also cannot use the stock YouTube app but the one I side loaded works.

Oh I see. I'll try to side load the youtube apk into the STB. THANKS!!

The stock YouTube app cannot play.

I've installed the youtube app from apk and now it works!! I notice that the preloaded youtube app in the STB is different with the apk version. Seems like an old youtube version. No wonder it is unusable. laugh.gif
