Yay for new fw? biggrin.gif.. Perhaps their coders are a bit of rebels too..  brows.gif

The icons are an eyesore but okay la.. At least box has extra function. But yeah, do update if can remember.. No rush.. Airmouse & logitech keyboard-mouse combo ready.

Yeah, I was wondering this part too.. If his firmware or he figured out a way to have a functioning Play Store that allows installations. I would just install a File Manager and won't need to be asking how to install third party apps. Nvm, every which way as long as working.

won't bother to update if there's no real improvement

re-configuring my Kodi (MyGica) is a tiresome job

If your box is already on the new fw, you don't have a say in it my fren. The box updates itself whether you want to or not. Unless you specifically block the tm servers in your router config, your box will be updated when they push it out.

As far as kodi xmbc mygica etc goes, you only need to configure it if you factory reset or flash a new rom on a device no? I don't recall hypptv boxes doing that after an update. My kodi install looks exactly the same since first i loaded it on..

if the box auto-updates and don't affect the apps, then I am okay with it.

I just lazy to research and re-do/re-configure everything again when something is broken. Like with Kodi, I have no choice but to find alternative like MyGica since Android 4.4 can't support the latest version. All this because of the icdrama add-on no longer being supported due to some HTTP protocol changes in the website

Goodday sifus,
Today I'm going to utilise my dusty HyppTV box I got since I subscribed to Streamyx 8Mbps one year ago.

Previously I've dove several mod/apks to this STB.
But as I never turn on this box for a year, many apps become obselete, especually Kodi addons.

1. I'm going to factory reset this STB. After finished, you guys recommended me to OTA update the STB or no? Is there any benefits of updating it regardless I'm not using for HyppTV viewing anyway. (On Unifi 10Mbps Lite, so no STB functionality).

2. Which version of Kodi do you recommend. AFAIK there are SPMC, FTC, MyGica, and so on...

3. Any good TV launcher to use? If can no disrupting ads.

If u use for Asian Drama, then u need to go for the alternative non-official version like MyGica. Latest Kodi doesn't support Android 4.4 anymore. Older Kodi like Jarvis 16.0 can't handle certain HTTP protocol/encryption which makes the icdrama add-on not functioning properly
