It very well could.. Software decoding, etc.. Questions are, Will the audio be down-mixed to say Stereo? As I seriously doubt it possesses pass-through capabilities. Remember, its a basic box and not a dedicated media powerhouse.

Scanned thru the specs sheet and there's no mention of passthrough capabilities. Also, being able to decode certain HD audio formats does not translate to supplying pure HD audio.. Typically means, it'll decoded the audio streams and possibly send out as perhaps PCM.

What a specs sheet says and what has been enabled or is supported by the firmware are different things. One has to remember, this is an extremely basic box, purchased & distributed to subscribers for one specific purpose.. TM's Hypptv Service.. So, if your requirements are more, then you'd have to invest in a proper android box or HTPC or truly "Smart" TV & an accompanying HT/AVR system that's compatible with such advanced audio processing..
