Folks, just got my playstore back and disabled auto update.   Heres how to do it.

First thing first, you need :

1. A HyppTV STB (which is the firmware is updated, without playstore)

2. * A pendrive ( if the update fails, use the link below )

3. Remote ( to access the recovery mode )

Let's begin !

Step 1 : Turn the STB off and make sure there is no internet connection ( ethernet/wireless ).

Step 2 : Press the RED power button ( repeatedly ) while turning on your STB. If you do it right, recovery mode will pop up.

Step 3 : Enter the recovery code 304830, and wait the notification "Correct Password" to pop up.

Step 4 : Choose option (2) Update from backup and choose update.zip from your pendrive.

Step 5 : If you fail the STEP 4, choose option (3) Update from external storage and choose update.zip.

Step 6 : The recovery mode will begin and the STB will reboot itself.

[ Disable auto update ]

Step 7 : Go to SETTINGS

Step 8 : Select SYSTEM UPGRADE  and enter 3008 in MAINTENANCE CODE and hit CONFIRM

Step 9 : Erase everything in SERVER ADDRESS and hit CONFIRM
Then, voila !  You just downgraded your STB's firmware and disabled auto update on your STB !

Enjoy your favourite apps like the good old days.

Haha..I was planning to buy the logitech K400 plus wireless touch keyboard. Couldn't find Microsoft keyboard which is compatible with android. Didn't realise that the date of the post was exactly 2 years ago

Guys i need to confirm something, is all your previously installed apps gone if your left your unit update the firmware? ie. es explorer or kodi

Reason for asking is if the new firmware doesn't come with google play, it should be smaller?

or is it? it does come with iFlix though

Tried the installation the maintenance code not working. After install the zip file doesn't seem working because nothing change in the apps. Did anyone tried?

it slow down the whole internet line. i am using 30mb anyway

To put on layman term ,

When u connect to LAN, it is actually connected to a seperate VLAN that will stream all the movie from HyppTV server.
while assume u connected to WIFI , u just connected to public internet which do not have the connection to HyppTV server
