The restore process is very simple and the apk I already has inside earlier WERE NOT affected. my KODI and others movies APK is not affected. everything works just fine. I don't need to reinstall them.

I already had success on the updated firmware. Six apps get downloaded from Google reository and after restarted there will be only two icons remained on the desktop, i.e. Play Store and Google Settings. You will get the chance to sign-in to your Google Account if you open Youtube for Android TV and select to sign-in with your account.

So is it safe now to update?

If so, can anyone give the update link so I can use HyppTV again...

NOPE! follow the guide I posted. all the google feature is working like original. MOST important after the firmware restore. remove the auto update IP. code: 3008 (old number)

Wait, what if I want to use HyppTV and Play Store?
Is it possible because there's no chance to use HyppTV if the auto update turned off...

And please someone update the first post with all those links and guides so people don't bother to ask the same question over and over again...

Playstore is working like before. but you need to call TM to get your hyppTV login.

My current hypptv box is the old version which is the grey color. If I was to purchase the white color box from a friend, is it plug and play or do I have to do configuration on it to view my existing channels?

It's hard to type using the standard control. Headache.

I bought this http://www.lazada.com.my/i8-wireless-air-m...k-19208536.html. same thing is cheaper and work well. best if you place your unit far. used a USB extended cable to plug in the USB EF modules.

Just to verify, HyppTV still can play after disabling the auto update...

yes! the auto update is not disable. Only removed the IP address & port number. without the address the unit won't able to update itself.

try to follow the guide and go into recovery mode
- press red power on/off button for many times while turn on the unit power on button at the back of stb.
but the box just boot into the homepage instead of recovery page

any tips?

you must hold the STB power button after you press down and keep pressing the remote power button none stop to go into the recovery mode.

while i was following the guide, trying to install kodi from playstore. it says "device is not supported.." any idea why is that so?
is it due to latest version of kodi in playstore? so i hv to find previous version and install from .apk? please advice.
