Good, I am satisfied with this phone. So far its the best I had after Mediapad X1, Lenovo Phab Plus. I have two version, one china version and the other one is international version. Don't seem much different between both, except some minor software changes that I notice.

International version, current firmware DAV-701L-B005

China version, current firmware DAV-703L-B029

I saw some message that that are testing lolipop for this phone, not sure when it will be release officially. Anyway, that is for china version. Not sure if it will ever make it to international version.

I am waiting to see if they are going to come out with P9 Max.
So far I am happy with Huawei phone. Tried Xiaomi, didn't like the software. So far, the Huawei Phone that I have, P8 Max, Honor 5X, Mediapad X1, Honor 6,                                        Mediapad M2 8.0, just got myself a new tablet Mediapad M2 10. Tried Lenovo terrible phone, tried Samsung battery terrible.

I am using China imported set.  On B211, EMUI 4 and 6.0 updated last month.

So far 6.0 no problem. I read many users got problem in the forum but I am ok with it.
Camera can use professional mode. It can screen recording also. Battery life feel can last longer.

if your OTA not work, you may try this link. All in chinese steps but I think it's not difficult to understand it.

1. download the update.zip file ( no need unzip it after download completed ) - 1.13GB
2. copy to SD card/dload ( create new folder if don't have )
3. go to settings>updater.

* take your own risk. as i know some of the mate 8 user also using this method to get latest update.

Nope, it went into bootloop. I tried force update a couple times, it just stuck at huawei logo during bootup. Something is not right with the firmware downloaded. I download again, same thing happen. I downloaded back the previous version and do force update, it is now working fine.

Yes, I reverted back to B029. I suspect the file is not complete. Although the update completed successfully on the phone, it will go into bootloop. And when installing the update, it is too fast. Even when I reverted back to B019, the amount of time for installation is almost twice.

I left my phone on bootloop whole night yesterday, lucky lcd still OK. When on bootloop, I cannot turn off the phone. It will always restart itself and stuck at huawei logo.  I only managed to download the B029 this morning.

It seem that the version that you have updated in beta version. It could be your phone is registered as beta tester, therefore you are getting the update. I went to Emui China site, which is official huawei site, and the latest official version is still B029.

If the phone is not registered as beta tester user, there will not be any update available regardless if you connect via hisuite or not. 

I will just then wait for the official version to be release. I think it will take some time. Anyway, I am currently still happy with my phone.

Lenovo launch phab pro which look interesting on paper.  Not so sure of quality and support

Finally received my p8max after week waiting. Nice packaging. It comes 2nd on my list after csl k800 i bought back in 2008 (with glossy wooden box) 1st thing i try is the camera. Not the best  but it was as good as Samsung Note 3's camera. Since I'm using it most of the time for browsing and youtubing i have no complaints as p8 max's performance is up to my expectations. For a price tag of rm1319 (ap set warranty) its a best bang for your buck. 😊
