1 thing i hope the most is they will taking this opportunity to increase the mi38 2gb to 3gb, mi58 4gb to 5gb and add in extra calls and sms to all network for iox, while ioxnet is still going and hope they will increased the sessions per day as well.
that's what i heard that once this magic sim is launched, many postpaid will rush into prepaid. that is y they give some sweets to the postpaid then come in to boost the prepaid. meanwhile free calls and sms still more attractive in postpaid but for data, prepaid is still the better choice. anything we just sit down and wait for the news tmr. QUOTE(Pan84 @ Jun 4 2015, 10:57 AM) I went to surf internet on this week and i found this. well my theory is its all a coincidence. as it seems that page was actually selling a bugged version of the sim/ghost or whatever you call it that somehow the page has similar name. Just look at one of the posts » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « and this » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « magic sim (the real one) vs Blue magic. And looking from the dates it dated 2014 and the latest was just an image of the real magic sim jst 17 hours ago. So yeah. maybe. Just maybe thats my theory. (•_•) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■) |

![]() I'm using Digi for quite some time.. is there any difference between these Celcom's MagicSIM and Digi Prepaid version? I only know that using Digi, eventhough zero quota (eg. using RM3 weekly), it is still fast to use social apps such as Facebook and Whatsapp, and you can surf anything using OperaMini without compromising the speed.. if these 'MagicSIM' is better than Digi, I would like to pick one.. huhu |

QUOTE(stormaker @ Jun 4 2015, 02:28 PM) I think it does. I think its similar to hotlink version fo 64kbps. U can use facebook but at that speed that is. I've used it with hotlink once and its not that bad. Of course it takes a bit time to load but the difference is negligible |

For high speed internet for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, there are giving it for free up to 200MB." |

But the Facebook logo below the "High Speed Internet" category doesn't help.Hotlink n Digi also giving free access to social messaging only ? Well, guess we need to wait for the full details. |

Apparently, it's clear that there's no EXP1 or EXP2 for 1 year or 2 years validity anymore with this "not-so-magic" SIM.
Fine print from their latest Terms & Conditions QUOTE If your original plan has a validity period of more than 30 days, upon successful migration to Magic SIM from Xpax, you shall only get a maximum of 30 days validity period. If your original plan has a validity period of less than 30 days, upon successful migration to Magic SIM from Xpax, the validity period for the your Magic SIM from Xpax shall follow the validty period of your original plan. Pretty screwed up. IMO. |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jun 7 2015, 12:07 PM) By TAN KIT HOONGbytz@thestar.com.my Maxis Berhad has launched a new prepaid mobile package with a new emphasis on providing free data for smartphone users. The package, called #Hotlink (pronounced “hashtag Hotlink”) provides free “basic internet” 24 hours a day for smartphone users. In Maxis terms, “basic internet” means a 64Kbps data connection — good enough for two-way communication using basic mobile apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and other messaging apps but may be a bit slow for more data-hungry apps like watching a YouTube video. The advantage, however, is that unlike most prepaid packages with data plans which limit the “free Internet” usage to certain mobile apps like Twitter or Facebook, there is no other limitation for the Internet usage in #Hotlink except for the speed. Additionally, if a user needs faster Internet speeds at the full 3G speed (up to 42Mbps), users can opt to temporarily add a high-speed data package for RM30 per month with a 1GB quota. Daily and weekly plans are also available. However, according to Dushyanthan Vaithiyanathan , head of Maxis’ consumer business division, higher-speed LTE network support is currently not available for prepaid users due to a limitation of the SIM card, although the company has plans to upgrade those cards to support LTE in the near future. #Hotlink also offers other benefits beyond just free Internet, most notably a single price for calls and SMS within Malaysia to any network at 12sen (for 30seconds) for calls and 7sen per SMS. Maxis is also offering a Top Up Bonus for users which can give users back up to 8% in credit once every two months based on how much the customer’s cumulative top-up is over the course of those two months. |

The only thing Celcom's IOX has got going is the 1, 2 year validity thing... guess I won't be migrating to this MAGIC plan so soon if they don't have it any more

after reload rm30, the original free data is not overrided.
means 200mb + 300mb = 500mb. so means once u bought the sim with rm4 and reload rm30, u got the credit rm33 for call and sms, and u can use the 500mb data for high speed internet. if the 500mb is finished, u still can surf t for free with basic internet 64kbps. |

but if u look carefully, magic has more advantage for low data and high call user.
reload rm30 each month to enjoy 300MB quota and 64kbps after quota, free 30 mins call. Celcom has the widest coverage. |

Does celcom stopped the long life for other plans too? I'm on normal plan (can buy long life 1 year) last year. But now, if I try to subscribe to 1 year, cannot...
It says 'sorry, this service is temporarily unavailable' I never migrated to MAGIC... |

magic has no problem whatsapp call.
if u 1 2 get high speed internet without buying any mip, simply reload rm30 and get 300mb high speed data for free instantly. then u can choose to sell ur credit to others at 70% market rate, or use it to call or sms as well as buying 1gb mip. but for me i usually sell it off to my clients. in another way pls keep in mind that u need to pay rm30 for 300mb high speed data provided u must have an active mip. |

QUOTE(fat16 @ Aug 27 2015, 10:09 AM) celcom and celcom mvno have to call service center. Thanks for the info. call 1111 press 2 u pay celcom 50sen press 3 celcom call u. Thought I could avoid having to call 1111 as hoping to just request online (like Maxis) or do it on the phone (like Digi). My experiences with them over the charging from 5-digit unsolicited messages via email and phone already turned me off these two avenues. Guess calling them just about voicemail is simpler ... let's see how it goes then. Might have to find a chance to visit them personally to resolve both matters altogether. |

Thanks everybody for your help, decided to call 1111 this evening. Managed to request for the voicemail deactivation for an old line as well, so next is to find a chance to visit them personally to "chat" about all those 5-digit messages. ^^

One more question on Magic SIM:
https://www.xpax.com.my/reload Towards the end of the page, there's a "To Extend Your Credit Validity" section. Keep your line active by subscribing to 1 Day validity extension at RM1 and continue to enjoy FREE Basic Internet. Type 1DAY Send 28882 Does this mean we can extend the validity by just a day without having to do a top-up? That is, during the passive (inactive) period, we can just type 1DAY and send to 28882 to activate the line by just a day? Thus the RM1 will be deducted from the credit balance? Has anyone here tried this? |

Has anyone here tried this? Btw celcom revised free internet quota to 500 MB , in line with other telcos. Free Basic Internet All Magic SIMTM from Xpax comes with free basic Internet at the speed of 64kbps (“Free Basic Internet”). You may continue to enjoy Free Basic Internet as long as your account is still active. If your account is inactive, the Free Basic Internet will be temporary disconnected until a reload is performed. The Free Basic Internet is up to a maximum of 500MB usage per month per mobile number only. This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Aug 30 2015, 08:10 AM |

QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Aug 30 2015, 08:07 AM) That is how I understand it Thanks for your reply. I understand about the "Free Basic Internet" part, which is quite similar to what the other telcos have. Btw celcom revised free internet quota to 500 MB , in line with other telcos. What I'd like to clarify is the part on: Keep your line active by subscribing to 1 Day validity extension at RM1 and continue to enjoy FREE Basic Internet. Type 1DAY Send 28882 Can the validity really be extended by a day without having to do a top-up? That means, when the line is not active, we can just type 1DAY and send to 28882 to activate the line by just a day? The RM1 will be deducted from the credit balance? This is as opposed to having to find a friend to do a credit transfer/sharing, or to actually do a top-up which will normally cost at least RM5 just for that 1 day. |

i still stay at old X2 plan and don't have long validity option anymore...their 1 day validity extension look like a scam, i try few times already, the 1 day validity time will reset or end at 12am each day, so that mean if you buy 1 day validity extension for rm1 at 11pm, u have 1 hour validity only...and if buy at 11.59pm, 1 minute validity...

Did Celcom just updated their call rate, validity and internet plan for Magic Sim? Homepage still states 12 sen/min call Source : https://www.xpax.com.my/magicsim_tnc Meaning call to other network is more expensive now if one is to call for 2 minutes only? Could this changes coincide with the mass amount of FREE Sim packs sent out this month from their monthly promotion feature for Magic SIM. RM 0.30 for a call albeit a huge block duration is ridiculously outdated. The calling block is 12minutes on-net and 3minutes off-net. These rates are published in the new TnC. Prepaid telcos are moving to shorter call blocks to attract customers and these changes by Celcom is a backward movement. Seems like it is to curtail the thousands/tens of thousands of free SIM packs that is going to be activated this month. |

QUOTE(SCThong @ Sep 10 2015, 03:26 PM) After the 1 day validity, I guess there is another 75 days inactive period before line termination? Yes/No? Not sure if the inactive period works with this method of validity extension, but the normal inactive period for Magic SIM is only 50 days, not 75 days.https://www.xpax.com.my/magicsim_tnc Upon expiry of the validity period, you will have 50 days to perform a reload, failing which your mobile number or account will be automatically terminated without any further notice. The new rate at the T & C page was updated 2 days ago and finalized yesterday.
https://www.xpax.com.my/magicsim_tnc Front page for call rate was not updated until this afternoon. I have tested it by calling Digi and Maxis numbers with short duration call to see the changes of RM0.30 being charged. Kind of disappointed that celcom is not catering for users that do short calls which is less than a minute. The new rates are similar to IOX users. By the way, IOX terms and conditions page has been removed and replaced with Magic Sim. Celcom going to migrate IOX user soon to Magic Sim? UOX and SOX T & C Page still remains https://www.xpax.com.my/iox_tnc |

magic sim kind of not so attractive already..... as i make a lot of short call, cause just want to pass out some simple message only and want supplier immediately instead of using whatsapp... and hope they wont remove or migrate my existing ios package as i still got 2 years val inside.

Cheaper if you end your calls at the 12th minute...or 24th minutes (exactly every 12 min) for calls within network. For calls outside network, its 3min for 30sen.Somehow I still have doubt lol.. How can XPAX can be cheaper than DIGI and UMobile? Confused already? Conclusion: Its not cheap. |

The most clear part is how we calculate based on block, entirely on per minute I got to say celcom is trying to mislead us.
The 30 sens of 12 mins block is not cheap. |

Fact 1 : 30 sen for 12 minutes call (on-net) is cheap to me Fact 2: 30 sen for 10 secs call (on-net) is not cheap to me If I like to talk a lot (like to my girlfren/wife/mistress ... or boyfren/hubby/toyboy) then Fact 1 is true. If I don't like to talk much (just about to anyone) then Fact 2 is true. |

I have people around me still holding on to their X1, X2, Xpax24 and IOX (and also Frenz) for a simple reason, don't fix what's not broken ..... LOL They received promo/junk sms every other day from celcom urging them to switch to magicSIM telling them that " You'll never let it go! " ... LOL ... The fact to the matter is they'll never let go of their older xpax plan (hint: EXP2 !). Hahaha ... Anyway, back to topic, yes, the revamped call rates of 30sen/12min block is EXPENSIVE to some people but it is CHEAP to some other people. Two sides of the same coin. Sure, I'll agree to both camps whether its cheaper or way too expensive ... it doesn't matter much ... they'll revamp it again sooner or later ... It's a simple matter. U mobile power is the cheapest at the moment. Go ahead and join the U bandwagon. Why not ? Sooner or later, celcom will come to their senses when they see another half a million prepaid a/c flew away. When xpax comes up with a better deal then you can always comes back. Why not ? |

if most of the call you make is less then 2min... then this rate is expensive.
we should pick the telco that offer small block for rate calculation in this case. if not bad bad call to ur fren and went to voice mail.... bye bye 30 cent just like that. |

I'm beginning to think that this forum is full of xpax fanboy... Or xpax staff
Nobody wants to call for mere 2 secs NSR just wanted to point out that if calls end up in voicemail, ending call before 2 secs does not consume money, which is good news for xpax |

Hi guys,
Any benefit to keep Celcom Frenz over Magic Sim? Planning to test the internet burung hantu thing. The only benefit that I know is can purchase 1 or 2 years validity. |

Just bought magic sim today but the seller got my name wrong when he key'ed in the info during registration. Is the info once registered cannot be change anymore by seller? Because walking into celcom center (what is it called again, celcom cube?) is rather trouble some.
Update: I used the support chat in Celcom portal and the support staff changed it for me in like 5 min. This post has been edited by FourZeroFour: Oct 8 2015, 09:59 AM |

After a decade of being a maxis postpaid customer, I finally jumped to celcom for the burung hantu feature. But somehow after I did 3 reloads, the last 2 reloads did not extend my credit validity period, so I asked their Celcom Care Chat and they told me that topup can only extend the validity period IF it is done when the number is not valid. This sounds very weird to me, can anyone here confirm this is true?

Hafiz: No, you're advised to reload within 3days or less before your validity end for extend the another validity. me: OK, I couldn't find this in your website T&C... Hafiz: That's you may refer to the Celcom Centre for the condition of prepaid account. me: ok, thank you Hafiz: You're welcome. |

Seems correct to me. I don't normally reload within the active validity, to get more validity - in your case 30 days validity. I normally reload just before or after the 30 days validity expired.
Unless you have current 30 days validity, and you reload RM 100 directly. You'll get around 30(current) + 70(more validity). Reload must be bigger than current validity. |

QUOTE(adraxx @ Oct 19 2015, 05:31 PM) I believe you can still make a balance inquiry during the passive period, with *124# which will give you the credit balance and last active date? Passive period for Magic SIM is 50 days, before the card expires altogether. |

All New & Existing Magic SIM customers can enjoy Internet Burung Hantu as long as they are subscribed to a weekly or monthly Internet pack starting from 21st September 2015. Only Magic SIM is eligible for Internet Burung Hantu. I knew about the free internet. But somehow I remember that there is so called a call rate of 2.5cents per minutes. Just wondering it is still exist or not? Anyway do you know when is the internet burung will be ended? I saw many of my fenz purposely buy this Magic Sim as 2nd sim card to download movie. They say it is very fast... But if you ask me, I would rather take this sim card use as 2nd sim card as well.. for long hour chat. That why would like to find out the 2.5 cents per minutes still exist or not. |

QUOTE(MohdAdmin @ Oct 28 2015, 09:41 AM) Hi would like to find out on this.. I currently using xpax plan and I realize that Internet Burung Hantu sim or Magic Sim give a better plan for mobile data user. You can change your plan from XPAX to Magic SIM, but if you have EXP1/EXP2 for your XPAX, only a maximum of 30 days will be carried over to Magic SIM. See the terms under "Migration" here:Somehow I do prefer on my current number without any intension to change new number, cause this current phone no. use it for work and contact to all my friend. The best of this magic sim plan can do more talk with my friend in cheap rate as well. Just Can I change the plan from xpax to magic sim while still keep my current number. http://www.xpax.com.my/magicsim_tnc The migration fee is RM5. |

yea it's false advertising. 30cents per 3 minutes is not that cheap and if you call 3 minutes and 1 second it's 60 cents. Better U Power prepaid 5 cents per 30 seconds.

QUOTE(samsss @ Oct 28 2015, 12:00 PM) magic sim like seriously portray they are cheap etc but yet still cz celcom the main boss the tricks like 2.5 cent just... speechless in fact, if you ask me with the internet burung package only Magic Sim is already very cheap. Further more, the low call rate is extra bonus for me. I guess the 2.5 cents per minutes are meant while some1 needly for long chat. Like boss, gf, wives etc..onexox or redone seems more transparent 12 minutes chat is only 30 cents But of course, short call not encourage to use Xpax. I would rather use other sim card If you ask me, Magic Sim is good package as 2nd sim card. Somehow it should a worth package for people need long chat. For example: you called your gf for 2 hours. it only cost you RM3 only. This post has been edited by chichibaibai: Oct 28 2015, 06:03 PM |

if you want to voice talk a lot, the current leader/winner is Friendi's rm40 plan - you can talk for 1,000 mins send 1,000 sms and get 0.5 gig data valid for 30 days. That works out to 4 cents a minute with bonus sms and data and to ANY network.

airbag is a partial con job. if u read the t&c, you need to be subscribed to a plan (min. rm10) before the rm24.99 airbag sets in otherwise the airbag sets in at rm34.99.
So yes, the airbag is slightly cheaper at 3.5 cents per minute but why would you want to miss out 500mb (valid for 30 days) for just rm5 extra. This post has been edited by sbd: Oct 29 2015, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(zubaidahwanti @ Oct 30 2015, 09:23 AM) Ha?! Like UMobile?!! Hm.. then have to consider about it.. I used UMobile and Maxis b4, because most of the claimed it that U ride on M, that why you use U = M. After using it.. Damn it! U coverage is just fuck up! internet speed lagi mampus, 3G already slow and don't talk about 4G speed anymore. The worst one is the Customer service.. need me go all the way down to timesquare to terminate my account. Lagi the staff attitude.. many many more complaint~~~ Faithed! U claimed they ride on M, just make shame of M only!!! U Mobile uses Maxis's line for 2g solely, and for 3g some areas where U Mobile doesn't have coverage, many people don't know/didn't read the fine term/simply say that U = M, but got conditions no 4g then nothing to comment. Purely for student and............ why you go to that branch |

QUOTE(zubaidahwanti @ Oct 30 2015, 09:33 AM) I really didnot read about the term and condition while signing up the package. Because it is really cheap. there's another branch at Setiawangsa there, if at selangor then at 1u, sunway pyramid When I decide to terminate my U line, I called the customer service... They told me in KL there only 1 Umobile service centre, which is Times Square. I asked them, is there any other U Mobile Center in KL? They say No... is there any other Umobile branch in Kl too? anyway, to not derail the thread, I have been having good speeds with Celcom lately on 4g, so probably hop onto magic sim and download from 1 to 7? |

i have an old 3G phone, thinking to get a cheap 4G LTE phone so that can download faster. for this package, is the 4G much faster than 3G? or about the same ? worth to get a 4G phone in this case? thanks. |

hi guys very curious about this burung hantu thing (I tried asking my nearby celcom store but they gave me a vague answer).
Is there any quota limit for this? Like Umobile, they say unlimited youtube, but actually only 500MB quota everyday. I'm a heavy downloader and I have a 4G-enabled backup phone as 'modem'. Thanks! Edit: btw when I buy the sim card pack, will it be 4G ready already? or need to activate something? Edit 2: After finish using the day time quota, can I still surf at throttled speed? Or is it like digi will lock down everything except whatsapp/fb? This post has been edited by l4nc3k: Nov 25 2015, 02:37 PM |

QUOTE(l4nc3k @ Nov 25 2015, 02:23 PM) hi guys very curious about this burung hantu thing (I tried asking my nearby celcom store but they gave me a vague answer). 1. There's no quota at during 1am to 7am.Is there any quota limit for this? Like Umobile, they say unlimited youtube, but actually only 500MB quota everyday. I'm a heavy downloader and I have a 4G-enabled backup phone as 'modem'. Thanks! Edit: btw when I buy the sim card pack, will it be 4G ready already? or need to activate something? Edit 2: After finish using the day time quota, can I still surf at throttled speed? Or is it like digi will lock down everything except whatsapp/fb? I downloaded 10gb in a night and still fast 2. The sim Is 4g ready out of the box. No activation required 3. Yes you still can surf in 64kbps. I'm surfing /k/ and replying this fine under throttled. And honestly you can find all these answers at celcom magic sim website. QUOTE(fat16 @ Nov 25 2015, 04:00 PM) Dial *118# and select 4 and select 1. They will send a sms to you |
