Received an SMS for my WISE card approval.

Told me to activate the card. And if still not received, call the number.

So I called, was told the card will be sent in late September (which I already know), just wondered why the SMS came to activate the card.

When asked, was told that they are waiting for the 'inventory' of the card to be replenished.

Really that many applicants huh??!

don't think it will work, though.

I recalled my experience with Unifi / Streamyx and auto pay.

I also did what you plan to do, but the autopayment registered the total amount as submitted from the Payee (i.e. Unifi/Streamyx), so I ended up paying 1 month in advance, with no CB!

Long story short, if this is not the card you want, just decline/cancel it.

Usually I won't trust SMS cause they can be part of some automation process that auto sent out when a card is approved in the system.
But my card was approved in first week of August and the letter was sent on 27Aug, after they have SMS me saying the card delivery will start from 21Sep sometimes middle last month.

anyway, i have gave CS a call and they will find out from the branch if the card is ready for collection.

Well, the CS never bothered to call back. So I went to the branch, since it's nearby.
Was told that the card is not found in the branch. Told to wait for call.

So, don't bother going to the branch unless they call you to pick up.

the confusing part is, they sent sms to request you to activate your card, if not received then call CS. Then they sent sms to say your card will only be delivered after 21Sep. then they sent snail mail asking you to collect from branch.

Still not confusing?

received my card in a snail mail at home. the instruction was to send to office or collect from branch. anyway, the card has arrived before 21Sep. Yay!

Along with the card, is an important notice about PIN.

"We would like to inform you that all credit card issuing banks and merchant point-of-sales (POS) are in the midst of switching from signature verification to PIN verification. This applies to all credit card transaction made at point of sale terminals. A personal identification number (PIN) is a 6-digit code unique to you that proves you are the rightful owner of the payment card. PIN verification for every credit card transaction safeguards your payment cards more effectively.

During this transition period, some retailers may already have adopted the use of PIN verification while others may still accept signature verification. However kindly note that the implementation of PIN verification will be fully enforced effective 1 January 2017. For more information please log on to www.hlb.com.my/pinandpay"

I called up the CS and asked about this, was told that all existing card holders will slowly receive a replacement card for all credit cards they currently owned. The new card will carry the PIN feature as per instructed by BNM. He further quoted Turkey as one country that has fully switched to PIN credit card. So our old credit card may not be able to use there.

Payonline is a stripped down version of a fully functional PCI-Compliant payment portal.
If they want to store credit card info, it will be a long legal and audit processes to be adhered to.

Since it's free service, I don't think they would do that.
