Rumors are saying that RMAF is keeping the mig-29n after all.. 

wonder what the heck happen to najib...when he's the defence minister, everything looks so well for the armed forces..getting upgrades and new toys..

when he's become PM, i thought our military will gain more benefit..how wrong i was..

Nothing wrong with putting more budget on mega project like mrt and so on.
but the government have to ensure they need to put effort into military spending as well.
if the government really pouring much more effort in esscom/esszone we wont have much terrible state in sabah and we can ensure our tourism industry hit that badly.
We got to have balance in managing our economy, security and so on.
too bad politician always underestimate the needs of investing in security and that goes for both camp.
There is also lots of issue I dun wan to bring into these thread especially on the mismanagement of public fund.
anyway let put a break on politics stuff here.

China passes new guideline so civilian ships can be used by the military in times of crisis



China's government has passed new guidelines requiring civilian shipbuilders to ensure their vessels can be used by the military in the event of conflict, state-run media said on Thursday. The regulations "will enable China to convert the considerable potential of its civilian fleet into military strength", it said.

The report said that China had about 172,000 civilian ships at the end of last year, suggesting the measure could be a major boost to China's navy. China's government will cover the costs of the plan, it added.

China has rapidly expanded its navy in recent years, commissioning its first aircraft carrier in 2012 and adding to its submarine and surface fleets.

The increased military spending comes as Beijing asserts its territorial claims in the East and South China Seas, where it has disputes with several Asian neighbours.

well it still russia 198x 199x product which airframe/fuselage lifespan is low, is about 2000hrs or 20 year mainly. no matter how upgrade it still consider danger.. fly own risk.
if not wrong upgrade not include radar
is not the RMAF want to upgrade, is no option so better than nothing for mig29, just force to accept it.  gov now no budget for new plane.

but such structure fatigue on the wing can be easily notice during routine check.
the scary thing if such structure fatigue happens on hidden place and went unnoticed during routine check.
