Anyone can tell me roughly how much is the starting cost if i plan to get a pair of gerbils? (inclusive of everything including the gerbils)

Thanks & regards
*
Hello, I would say it would cost around RM 110 - RM 130 for everything. Of coz it depends on what size of tank you get, what brand of food and also where you buy the gerbils from. If you buy those RM 68 gerbils then definately you will spend much more, haha.... coz some pet shop sells at that price. Gerbil prices range from rm 20- rm 68 as what I have seen in pet shops.

Haha I dont think her bf would mind the extra help... then he can sit bak n relax while someone else does his work. Anyone volunteer to help me clean tanks? LOL

Toy got cheap n got expensive... but cheap toys are best for gerbils since they destroy everything... haha...

Free toys~ toilet rolls, tissue boxes, any cardboard stuff, any empty small boxes, empty jam jars

Cheap toys ~ Rm 2 or RM 5 aroma burner , rm 1.50 - rm 2.50 PVC pipes, rm 1 cups, 0.50 cents rolled up manila paper

Slightly more pricey toys ~ RM5 metal stationary holder, Rm7 hanging coconut, RM5 - rm10 driftwood, rm 10 wooden block with holes, Rm 12 wooden house

My more expensive toys ~ Metal ikea stand(their favourite place to sleep), metal exercise wheel

Note that most permanent gerbil toys should be either wood or metal... plastic toys will be destroyed very fast....

No need, although also can.... but some gerbils dunno how to run a wheel. My boys tank got a wheel but only 3 of them use it, the other 2 dunno. But wheel is a problem for gerbils.. bcoz of the tail can get stuck in the holes for metal wheel. For plastic wheel gerbils will destroy it. So far malaysia doesnt sell the metal mesh wheel that is safe for gerbils..although I hear some ppl say petsmoore sell it, but im always not able to find it, haha

oic, so better dont put the wheel into their tank la. either they will destroy it, or the wheel coused trouble for them.
but if i see the metal one, i'll buy la.

If you can find this type of wheel, its good for gerbils.
