QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 3 2007, 10:00 PM) Duprasi are called Fat tailed gerbils. They are VERY different from Mongolian gerbils. Duprasi are actually a wild species. The petshops are selling duprasis that are caught from the wild. Why so expensive? Well, one is they are rare. Two is it is VERY DIFFICULT to breed them. Three is that they MUST LIVE ALONE coz they can KILL each other. Mongolians are domesticated. People have been breeding mutation colours for experiment and science purposes.... so this is why we got so many colours in Mongolians... but for Duprasis, they are still a wild species. Same with Bushy Tailed Jird, Lesser and Greater Jerboas and so on. So of course these mention species of rodents are more expensive coz they are harder to breed in captivity and are rare to find. Owh? So you can have more than 1 common gerbil in a cage but not duprasi? I thought duprasi are less aggressive?

Oh I noticed hamsters can be rather stupid at times. You try putting them on your shoulder and it'll go kamikaze jumping down without knowing how high it is. Will gerbils do the same? Or they're smarter to cling on to you?
