Guys,

I have a budget RM4K for the monitor but I'm in dilemma whether to choose Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz or Predator X34A.
This X34A is 100Hz (but Overclock) and XB271HU 144Hz. Is there any difference to our eyes 100hz vs 144hz?
My graphic card is 1070 and my current monitor is 1080p only. Seems like overkill for 1070.
Or any other monitor you can recommend? Mostly for gaming..

The difference from 60Hz to 100/144Hz will be noticeable but from 100Hz to 144Hz, the difference will not be as significant.

With your budget of RM4k, you'd need to top up another RM200-299 for the X34A though. So, 3440 x 1440p (X34A) or 2560 x 1440p (XB271HU)?

So 100 to 144Hz not much different correct. If that the case I may be able to top up abit for X34A

They said upgrade from 60 to 100 are worlds different but 100 to 144 not that much diff.
Depends on whether you need that 144Hz or not, else 100Hz are more than enough, also X43A is ultrawide, browsing 2 webpage side by side  biggrin.gif  and you can watch movie without any black bar now  wub.gif

From your signature, your graphic card is 1070. how it is perform when the X34A overclocked to 100hz?
and how is the game performance with the resolution of 3440x1440p, do you need to adjust to medium settings? games like fallout 4, skyrim, witcher 3 and etc..sorry for asking lot of questions, i scared will regret buying this x34a, hehehe.

Overclocked to 100Hz depends on monitor. I think X34A have much higher rate of success.

For 1070 running 3440x1440, not too much issue, on higher demand game like Doom, cant max out but really close to max @ 82fps  biggrin.gif

Found my old post in Doom as below.

I remember The Division had to drop till high or medium, likely bottleneck due to my old i5 2500K + 8GB ram  cry.gif

Ok, thanks, very helpful. Seems my decision now is more on X34A, with I5 6600K +16GB frame rate should be +5 or +10 abit.
and also I'm into Elite Dangerous now, maybe i can see more left and right and more view of the cockpit

Yes bro buy x34a if budget permit. But i would say gtx 1070 you can max out graphic settings in game but sacrifice framerates. Or you can achieve higher framerates but lower the settings. Depends on games too, if new games yes it will be impacted, but if old games no feel. smile.gif
But say later in future when you upgrade gpu, yes your monitor is still awesome.

For your info, my gtx1080 on 2k reso settings everything max on forza horizon 3 and gears of war cannot even hit 144fps dont mention 165fps. Its just hovering around 80fps to 120fps. The only games im able to hit 165fps is league of legends and cs go smile.gif

Good to hear from XB271HU owner.
If like that better go for x34a instead of XB271HU because there is no point if cannot hit 120-144fps
Thanks buddy

Forgot to update, I finally bought X34 last month. I manage to overclock to 100hz without any problem. This is my 1st G-sync monitor and quite impress with it. It never stutter when the frame rate drop example 100fps to 50 fps and sometimes I don't even aware the frame rate already drop biggrin.gif this g-sync is really amazing.
With 1080p normal monitor, when I'm playing Elite Dangerous, 60 fps flying on outer space suddenly stuttering a lot when approaching the planet or planetary landing (50 fps).

And now also I can view left and right more biggrin.gif
The only problem now is my desk space, more than half of my table is eaten by this monitor hmm.gif
I have to do a little bit temporary adjustment, thanks for the recommendation guys smile.gif
