hi guys,
Was aiming for LG 38UC99 after selling off 34UC99. Found international seller through 11th St rm6559 (http://www.11street.my/productdetail/lg-38uc99-38inch-21-9-ultrawide-wqhd-3840x1600-ips-24221096).
Have anybody bought electronics shipped international through 11th St before?
I am worried about the tax and also warranty (is it international?).
pls share your experience.

Mine is from korea since its korean monitor.
You will have to go KLIA kastam to pay 6% gst & collect on the spot for faster process. You must track poslaju to see that it reach KLIA for inspection, it will stay there for quite a few days (up to a month) till I call the kastam.
If you waited for their letter to come, then you send letter back & slowly send letter go, it will take forever to arrive your house.

Thanks for the info, sounds troublesome since I am in Penang. At least it's just 6%...was hearing some items can be taxed up to 30%.

I sarpork you! His price for this monitor is really good as well.

Bought the ultrawide from this dood and I have nothing but praises for this monitor (except playing Dota 2 on it, but that one is Volvo problem).

At 4.9million pixels ultrawide are so much easier to drive than 4k (8.3million), but the immersion of ultrawide displays are unparalleled. Especially curved ones!

I memang cannot describe what it feels like to play on ultrawide, really have to see to believe. smile.gif
*
Very true, once try ultrawide wont go back 16:9. You can actually get an idea from existing screen. Just create custom resolution 3440x1440 or 2560x1080. Make sure to set monitor to display aspect ratio.

Guys, thinking of getting xr342ck..Im using gtx1070 but x34a is way too much money for me so I guess xr342ck a good option? Not that I gaming alot but kinda syiok now looking at ultrawide monitors lol

So then xr342ck still a good buy now? So few choice here the other option is only dell which don't interest me
*
Spend a little more for Gsync if you are using Nvidia. you wont regret it as I did. Unless you can get used xr342ck for cheaper. xr342ck resale value is very low due to low demand, so will be a problem if you want to sell later.

You don't miss Gsync?
*
I think I am not likely to, as I dont play FPS games, mostly just RPG (3rd person.isometric) which is perfectly fine @60fps. I feel if GPU can maintain constant 60 fps is already giving a very smooth gameplay with or without Gsync.

3 months old unit for a very very good deal smile.gif Not sure if the seller would want me revealing how much he let it go for. Considering some retail unit are available for promo price 3899 now, I got it at a decent steal. Flawless body and flawless panel, no dead pixels, no stuck/bright pixels. To me its better than buying new and getting a lemon pixel defect unit, and less than 5 = no exchange as per Acer's policy. With my kind of luck, it was totally possible getting a lemon  bangwall.gif

That's a sweet deal! are there any BLB? Can it be overclocked to 75hz without frame skipping?
*
Most Acer reseller is selling at this price even though the MSRP is RM4999. This Acer model is default 75Hz even though it uses the same LG panel which has issue with 75Hz OC.
BLB is surprisingly minimal. here's pic in total darkness.

hello did you puchase it? how is it?

I have both AW3821 and C9 connected to pc, so i can compare side by side. Its OLED no brainer if you have the space, everything is better or equal including feature where AW is supposed to be better such as 144hz (cant tell the diff to 120hz, where it is max at 10bit full) and Gsync module (C9 Gsync compatible feels as smooth).
OLED wins in picture quality (HDR, contrast, accuracy) and TV extra feature such as apps, eARC (HD sound passthrough if connected to home theater). you can also force it to run in 21:9 aspec ratio for most games. Most people will talk about burn risk on OLED, the risk is there but unilkely unless extreme condition, i have the first gen LG OLED which is now 6 years and yet to get any burn issue.

AW in general is an excellent desktop monitor, especially if you are using as desktop usage (browsing, mouse & keyboard games). Some downside
1. HDR is a mix bag. it can look great and super bright at times but struggle in dark scene where it can become too dark to the point of cant see anything, lots of lost detail. using mode 1 will help a bit.
2. the desktop color in SDR can look too saturated
3. side by side, AW will look washed out due to contrast

im sure you will be happy with either especially if you are upgrading from other PC monitor. i upgraded from Acer xr382cqk to AW3821DW and it is a satisfactory, but the price is probably too expensive when compared to a 55" OLED.

Bro, you order through Dell official site? RM5599 only for such a high spec monitor, no brainer.
*
Yup direct from dell. You can actually get 100 bucks cheaper from Irontusk tech in shopee, trusted seller and he may even be able to expedite as priority. I didn't do so as the hassle to cancel thru Dell. My projected delivery mid Apr.
