You may consider Oppo Find 7 now, which now only sell for RM998, exceed all your listed spec, (3GB RAM, 2K screen, 3000 mah battery), and now is below RM1000.

Ask the shop to help you update to Color OS kitkat.
*
Wow. Been eyeing the LG G3 used, but at that price, can get a new Find 7 now!

Two questions:
1) What's the latest stable firmware? Kit Kat ah? Shop can help upgrade?
2) How's the battery life with the latest stable firmware? Saw the GSMArena review, battery life is bad, but that was like 1 year ago.

1. Latest stable firmware is Color OS V2.0.8i, Android 4.4.2, shop can help upgrade, just take around 10 minutes.

2. Well, battery life is a subjective thing. On moderate usage, just Facebook, Wechat, Whatapps, online, can last a day with data turn on. Of course, gaming drain more battery, current generations smartphone all are battery drainer.

3. Oppo phone memory has a known issue, where by default apps is allowed to be installed around 3GB in a separated partition. Remember go to setting, then find "Switch Partition" to allow apps to be installed on the whole phone remaining storage. Phone will be resetted and all data will be wipe out after doing so. It is recommended to do so on 1st startup. Or, you need to backup all the apps and file before doing so.

Another phone worth recommend is the ASUS Padfone S 16GB, 2GB RAM version.

PC Depot now is selling the original set at RM699, pricing same as the Meizu M1 note and M2 note.
Only PC Depot is selling this unit at such low price

http://www.pcdepot.com.my/ori-asus-padfone...k-4716659886143

Recommend for those with tight budget, and want a phone that has performance and spec close to Samsung Galaxy S5. (Of course, with some minus like no water resistant, no removable battery, lower camera quality, no IR blaster, smaller battery at 2300 mah)

If you can pay a bit more, ASUS Padfone S Plus 64GB, 3GB RAM version is selling at RM899 at shop like DirectD.

Oppo Find 7 over Oneplus One
1. 2K screen over 1080p (not a big deal)
2. Removable battery
3. Micro SD card slot, non on Oneplus One
4. Much louder speaker.

Oneplus One over Oppo Find 7
1. 64GB vs 32GB internal memory.
2. Slightly larger battery, but much longer battery life, due to lower resolution screen, better battery management.
3. Maybe the simple UI close to stock Android appeal to someone, which make the phone actually feel faster. Lesser bloatware. (Personal preference through)

By comparison, Oppo Find 7 offer more thing than Oneplus One. Build quality wise, actually Oppo Find 7 is better. I personally prefer Oppo Find 7 due to more resemblance to the flagship phone.

Well, down to the lowest point, pricing is also a deciding factor too. Now it is priced lower than Oneplus One, so pricing benefit on Oneplus One is gone.
I know Oppo Find 7 has many issue, but Oneplus One does has its own issue too (in fact, a lot too)

I would say, support wise, Oppo will be the better hand at Malaysia.
Every other thing, down to personal preference, every phone has pros and cons. There are people that is happy with their Oppo, and people happy with Oneplus One, it just choices.
If really want to do comparison, consider Xiaomi too.

Well, those are common smartphone issue.....
Over heating, battery drain, OS bug.
Touch screen failure, motherboard failure, screen color tint. (Apply to both phone too). There are people defending both phone, and there are people hating both. Some facing it, some don't.

But overall, Oneplus One battery life is longer than Oppo Find 7.
But down to this price point, both are actually quite good to consider, as I said, more down to personal preference.

I do own many smartphone and tablet. I do face problem that other people mention, but also don't facing some of the issue.
Touch wood for all of us to get the phone that is problem free.

Xiaomi? Psst. Forget about it. A iPhone clone eh? brows.gif whistling.gif

I personally like a near stock Andriod experience. I personally prefer Oxygen OS or CM> ColourOS. I will try to change ROM or intsall some skins if I go for Find7.

Still, the stunning 2K display, fast charging and beautiful pulse notification will be some compromises if i go for 1+1. rclxub.gif

Samsung Galaxy E7 or OPPO Find 7?

basically looking at 5.5" phone below rm1k. prefer something that can last long on a full charge. decent camera. no need any fancy stuff like nfc, etc... phone will be mainly for browsing and taking photos. ideally a phone with minimal issues as user will not be tech savvy.

phone will replace users galaxy note 1. pen function not necessary.

the two I mentioned seems to be ok, with E7 being newer. was looking at redmi note too but I suspect user will need time to get used to the UI. and specs are a bit low end.

OnePlus One is above rm1k and battery life seems good. but the camera is kinda wonky and there's the quality concerns. I noted discussion above also seems to indicate similar issues with Find 7... hmm...

how? or any other brand/ suggestion? no Lenovo though...

thanks...

in my opinion, if you are comparing between E7 and find 7, find 7 is a clear winner. E7 only have 720p HD display and Find 7 has 1440p QHD display. The RAM loses too. E7 is 2GB and Find7 is 3GB. CPU for e7 is snapdragon 410 and Find7 is snapdragon 801. 410 is for mid range budget phone and 800+ are mostly for high end tier phones.

despite the age, Find 7 is still a very strong phone. you may put one plus one into consideration. both oneplus one and find 7 has a very very good camera for its price point. i wonder where u heard the oneplus' camera problem from. ohmy.gif

currently if you wanna buy a high spec phone with budget around 1k, only 2014 phones will do the job. unless you go for xiaomi or meizu all those. but since u dont even want lenovo, forget those eh? whistling.gif

or maybe asus zenfone2. you can go for 4gb version for 1.2k and cheaper if u go for 2gb version. that is if you accept all those asus' bloatware, just ok descent camera and super super mainstream in Malaysia.

I was using the OnePlus One before. camera at many times could not compare even with note 2 during normal shoots (where no tripod and need to take like in 2 seconds and subject is moving).

any other 2014 phones you can suggest? strictly below rm1k.. thanks so much..

This actually really depends on what you wish for on your phone though. Asus zenphone 4gb provide a lightning fast phone but with the compromises of bloatware and a 100 more than 1k. The plus side is it is relatively new and there is a 2gb version selling for 900. Of course the spec is slightly poorer than the the find 7 for 998 and its 4gb version.

If you look for a near stock andriod phone, Moto g 2015 can be a good choice although it might be released soon in Malaysia. The price should be around 900. Still, the compromises are just 720p display, just ok camera. Things that you would expect from a normal budget smartphone.

The only real deal for now, in your case, I think would just be Oppo Find 7. Still the compromises is that, in my opinion, ColourOS might not be as good as Motorola os or OnePlus Os or even ZenUI. It is just the matter of self preference. And also, think about why they drop the price so much? 1.9k to 1k. There must be something eh? Haha

Other 2014 with similar spec still sells around 1.5k. Moto X 2014 as an example. Even Nexus 5 2013 still maintain at 1.4k.You can consider XiaoMi Mi4i or Redmi Note 2 if you don't mind Mi phones la. Haha. They aren't too bad overall.

Just follow your heart, it is down to personal preference.

The 1080 screen on Oneplus One is just as sharp as 2K screen, and 30% brighter too on top brightness compare to Oppo Find 7 screen, just that the Oneplus One screen lose on contrast, due to lighter black level, but overall not very noticable.

Oppo Find 7 also can flash with CM too.
I buy it just because of its cheaper price with high spec.
I personally don't like Xiaomi too, due to no NFC, no expandable memory, no 4G at some model at this price range.

Well, if you head over ASUS Zenfone 2 forum, there is much more complain from user.
Much frequent over heating, battery drain, and unstable OS implementation on Lollipop 5.0. Hanging, camera failure. I read it a lot at Gsmarena.

Again, touch wood for all people to get a phone that is problem free.
