As someone else pointed out PhD is almost worthless here in bolehland but if your Uni is reputable then its worth quite a lot in developed countries. As for the high paying job, you'd wanna find out more details about it, i.e. work environment, career advancement in the company, etc. Just because its high paying doesnt mean its worth it. You might end up working a in a very specialized role without much career opportunities or advancement, heck here in bolehland sometimes high paying jobs means you are taking on 2-3 persons worth of workload which if you break it down to pay/hour isnt really worth it.
