I have just been stung by the bike fever and looking into getting a bike.

My intention of getting a 250cc bike is just to learn and and get used to the bike (Most probably weekend ride).

Later on when I'm more confident, then only I will upgrade to a 600 CC and above.

I have ride a bike before but nearby only, not serious riding yet. Thing is I really like sportsbike with fairings compared to naked bike.

Planning to get B full also.

But now I'm thinking whether is it a good thing to get a brand new bike or a used one.

All my friends that tide bikes told me to get used one first, dont waste money on a brand new one because eventually upgrade anyway.

hopefully all sifus here can advise, all suggestions are welcome.

ayam is the same as TS. ayam thinking of getting used CBR250. cheap around 12k only. maintenance also cheap. is a good beginner bike. another option is r25 and also z250. all is gooding

DOnt bother... straight away jump to liter bikes. 250 is a good start to see IF you really like biking... some see glamour but cannot tahan the heat/safety issues etc...

My first was ZXR250... then terus jump up to fireblade... ride until kahwin then sell all

2011 can get rm10k for cbr250.

Thanks for the advise, but I also looking not just tahan heat and all also. That one I will have to self endure, but overall in terms of price of bike, maintenance and other stuff as well need to consider.

250 is ok for starting..
If you planning to upgred.. better get 2nd bike, cheeper. please make sure the bike is in good condition.
if you want to go fast 250cc is not fast/power bike!

Any suggestions what bike? Ninja, CBR, Megelli, Blade or maybe other suggestions?

I never had maintenance issues with my bikes...

THen again I always go for japanese...

THe most expensive parts seems to be the tyres... the rest are pretty much bullet proof... nearly 100k mileage on the fireblade and only thing replaced was the rear abs.

Oh.. the safety gear cost alot... 3 jackets.. 2 full face.. 2 set of gloves...boots... and misc... nearly 10k there

Worst part is I STILL have those safety gear...

both cbr and ninja using almost same parts
tyre front 110/70 and rear 130/140/80
around 550+ if use pilot street michellin best tyre price/performance for 250 at the moment
sprocket and chain also bout the same price chain Xring regine/did price around 300+
front and rear sprocket bout 100+
oil filter also 30-50 depends on the shop u buy la
the major diff is cbr 250 is single piston while ninja 250 is 2 piston
hence changing spark plug cbr is cheaper because use 1 piston only

u can search at mudah cbr 250 price around 9k-11k

but R25 not yet got 2nd hand right now

cbr250r,ninja250.. these to bikes easy to get in the market.
cbr more to sport touring, ninja supersport
diffrent riding position...
to save money do check motor condition, tyre, chain, spoket, break, body crack or any have accident
do spent on safety gear.. fullface + glove + jacket

got..but pricier compare to cbr lah. since the initial price also is pricier than cbr

i prefer cbr or z25 because of the riding position. if travelling long distance daily, supersport riding position gonna give u backache

Sorry to ask but if buy from shop right, how much can it be nego or cant be nego at all?
