i came back from Singapore hoping to start new back in Malaysia.
Generally, i made some comparison about the expenses here n there.
Hawker food / market food = Singapore cheaper. $2.50 for 2 vege n 1 meats. Tea increases 10 cent only. Transport (own/public) = Equal... but more comfort n ease in Singapore. Life = Malaysia dominates. Unlimited and timeless if you manage to find it. = More mobility especially at night. Majority public transport in Singapore close ard midnite. = Cheaper to hang out in Malaysia. Limited 24hours mamak stalls in Singapore and clubbing may cost u a fortune Health = Singapore better cause you can withdraw certain % frm your CPF saving for surgical. (if no insurance) = Suprisingly not so hot in Singapore if you walk around day time. (many air-cond tunnels) People = Generally ok. Work / prospect = Generally like hell, = Limited opportunity if you are from Malaysia. Unless you oversea grad n hv good people skills. = Succum to Singaporean wrath at work. you will never b apart of them no matter how hard u tried.
Experiences = Generally ok only if you can take shit from work. Fun abundant if you willing to cross the border.
Just my 2 cent. Hoping to go back tho.. miss the hell life there.

QUOTE(terencetoo @ Jan 26 2008, 12:06 AM) Yup true~ Jobs hunting~ jobs hopping~~ Salary increment~ Wonder how they threat Malaysia in S'pore? What i hate the most is Online Application alwiz stated " Only Singaporean and PR ONLY!" whats wrong with that? Do u know u can actually get a PR if ur boss dont approved it. Not by marriage tho. I just heard my frz told me. Added on January 26, 2008, 9:23 amneed to find accomodation kinda urgent la. anyone can hook me up temporary. Will share the rent with u. QUOTE(GeneJin @ Jan 29 2008, 11:50 PM) If rental is such a big issue you all might wan to consider travelling everyday to and from work. But it's a very tiring process and yes, you'll save more on the long run. Try staying in JB is wat i mean.with a common room price SGD500 you can get a double storey teres here. A room might cos u around RM400-500. travelling to work is about RM7-10. so actually u still save, dun mention that u're coming back to msia for food and entertaiment too. So it really depends on whether u're willing to sacrifice time to save more money. As old chinese saying goes, time is gold =) hehe. agreed. try that last time. Kastam queue isnt that bad... at least not as bad as KL federal H. during peak hour. U may get back ache riding bike in da long run.

QUOTE(terencetoo @ Feb 22 2008, 02:24 PM) C'on S'pore i know u love Malaysians!! they do, if u willing to start from scratch. I did mine way way back... I hv an old friend who went to Singapore looking for job too. He grad from local Uni & had few years experience in Chemistry stuff. Couldnt secure a place asking for a mere S$1.5k. A coursemate of mine (graduated), went to Singapore. got a job starting at S$1.2k. Now after 2 years she's getting S$1.5k + 3 years bond for a PR application). Her english not good. QUOTE(jimmy79 @ Feb 26 2008, 10:33 AM) Yishun is nearer for you to go raffles by MRT. Anyway woodlands is just 3 extra station away, not too much different 3 xtra station, does it equal $50 travelling expenses for a month. This post has been edited by pubee: Feb 26 2008, 10:11 AM

QUOTE(PoisonIvy82 @ Mar 22 2008, 06:32 PM) Hi all.. It has been 1 week since i came to Spore. Still trying to settled down. At the moment staying in a temporary accomodation given by the company but will move in into my permenant room 6th Apr. Weather has been bad lately and now sick de To jobseekers out there.. all the best!!! talk abt accomodation man... ive been force to settle in Jurong west. I work in Raffles. If i got a room mate i can get a nice comfy room w great view n air cond. Luckily frz intro me a room in Chinatown... store room alike. but walking distance to office... guess it will do at da moment.
