Hmm…I m working in an IT recruitment and solutions agency as an IT recruiter. So if anybody wanna work in SG, please do send your resume to me at leeling.teo@theoptimum.net. However, we do not hire fresh grads. So once any of you guys have 1year experience and above, feel free to bomb my email with your resumes. Please do write in details about the projects you are involved in, it will help a lot in securing an interview. Most of our clients are big MNCs like Merril Lynch, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Accenture, IBM, HP, Barclays, Credit Suisse, etc…..

I have no idea about racist problem…I have no prob as my company is multiracial…Indians, Pilipinos, Chinese from China, Malaysia, Singapore….the only Singaporean Chinese working in my company is very nice and frenly….humble too…
But basically most of these MNCs are multiracial, will not have problems.

Software engineer? Hmmm wat field? It depends on your specialization and experience….
SAP, Peoplesoft, SAS, Datawarehousing, Business Objects, Informatica, C++, DBA specialist can demand much much more than asp, .net. java……but a java person can demand more than asp, .net, vb….
In short, it depends whether u are in demand or not….if everybody is doing the same thing, they will not pay much as they can find their own people to do the job.

a quick question. for the following scenario;

Year 1 : work in malaysia, salary 2k RM
Year 2 : work in Singapore, salary ~2.2k SD
Year 3 : work in malaysia again, salary ??

would my 3rd year salary be around my current 2.2kSD amount converted to RM, or it would be lower according to the malaysian rate. IT field.

thnx

its no brainer as no employer in his/her right mind to pay someone 50-100% more for the same thing
well, why do you want to come back in the 1st place?

Hiya!

Just want to know about the chances of corporate comm professionals getting a job in Singapore. I am a writer and working in a bluechip company in KL in corporate comm area and yeah, getting tired of Malaysia shaky political scene. And generally Singapore society is more open-minded compared to Malaysia and that really attracts me.

I have checked the major websites about jobs in Singapore but apparently there are not many in the area of corporate comm. Wonder should i go down, stay and find jobs there? I hope not coz that's financially too risky for me. Most of my friends say i should stand pretty good chance given that i am educated abroad but somehow i have no luck in Singapore.

Perhaps anyone of you can educate me a bit on how to increase my chances of working there.

sorry to inform you that you might have to accept a lower paying job then standard for a start unless you have friends who work in mnc
apply for pr and then move on to greener pasture

Hi, Byron

Thanks for the comment. Do you mean that i may have to start like a fresh grad in Singapore? Hmm... What would be the indicative salary range in this case? For me, it's only worthwhile if i can get something that pays me at least SGD3k and above. Fat hopes or possible?
*
you may have to...
it may or may not be possible depending on the company size/industry and your qualifications
i am not sure about the indicative salary range
but u can have a look at the salary report here then minus 50% for a start

http://www.robertwalters.com/resources/sal...y/Singapore.pdf

my advice would be start applying for job regardless and try to ask around your friends circle for recommendations from those working in sg right now

Most of my friends who just graduate from local uni got the job in sg quite easily.
I heard private university/college fresh graduate will be harder to find a job there as sg govt don't recognize those certs.

even many with just spm can get themselves a job, why dont you
cement your steps before you try to achieve anything
that's my 2 cents
