for me, i was drawing quite low (<3k) over in malaysia with 4 years working experience in malaysia in MNC manufacturing background. so over here, got around 10% increment (1 RM to 1 SGD). so consider quite satisfied given the conversion rate and also the increment.
well, i would say get pass your interview first then bargain for a price that you think you're worthy of. i know philipines and china guys are drawing lower pay than us malaysian, so we're consider fortunate. or perhaps that's only in the MNC i'm in now...not too sure.
anyway if you're a private banker and with experience, i'm sure u can get at least 4k and above (as what my friend told me of the amount he was offered with 2 years exp)
hope this helps.

QUOTE(Dyong @ Apr 30 2008, 02:47 PM) Annie, Are you staying at Codo in Singapore? Common room cannot cost as much as 550-600... Added on April 30, 2008, 2:49 pmLow... the pay range is like for diploma students in Singapore. How's your other offer in Malaysia? you'll have to budget around 500 SGD for common room. some still fall in the range of 400-450. it depends on your location as well. finding a job in Sgp is getting harder nowadays. My friend even with a PR is still looking for a job after 3 months of continuous searching n applying and interview-ing.

QUOTE(Dyong @ Apr 30 2008, 05:21 PM) athlic , what field of work is your friend in? Nothing is easy these days. Especially in foreign land, you're without home-ground advantage . You have to be better than good. Focus and Specialise, then you will be paid premium. nah, it boils down to the impression you gave to the interviewer, thought the better than good part helps. remember you're competing with cheaper labours, own country comrades and mostly ASEAN people when you're applying for that job. however, just keep on trying till you get one. all the best to those who're trying to get a job in singapore.

QUOTE(MasterBlaster @ May 2 2008, 09:06 AM) I work at Singapore, stay at Kulai, wake up every morning 5.30am, depart at 6.00am, reach office at 8.45am. Office hour from 9.00am to 6.00pm. Then I can reach home at 9.00pm, some say cannot tahan, but it did help me to save a lot money.... when u see ur bank account, will forget all the tired... can save RM3k every month....but spend my life to get those money. salute. but later u'll have to ask urself is it worth it to do that in the longer run.
