Below is the data provided by blomberg. 3 months return -0.4% (excluding sale charge) .

Ya. I over look. He is refer to bond fund.
What i mean is refer to money market.
*
Yes. The green line is bond fund, blue line is money market fund.

Ecash deposit is better.
More stable + no need to pay sale charges.

I have a question about joint holder. If the joint holder is minor (<18 years old), upon death of the fisrt-holder, will the joint-holder takes over the investment? Can anyone (guardian of joint holder) withdraw the money before the joint holder attain 18 years old?

In this case, PM's performance doesn't look too shabby when compared against MSCI ACWI (all world). Of course, this is not taking into account sales charges.

Are the returns shown on the PM website or their product highlights PDF documents already minus the about 1% Management Fee+Trustee Fee?

For example, for PSKF it shows:
Annual Total Return for the Financial Years Ended 31 August
2012 (5.05%), 2013 (2.39%)...2019 (8.77%)

Those figures already minus the annual fees? Same question for the screenshots of annual returns posted here by users, like the posts above, already minus the annual fees?

Thanks!
*
Yes. The nav reflected is value after deduct annual management fee, trustee fee. Sales charge is not deducted. You need to consider less 5.5%earning for equity funds, less 1% earning for bond funds.

Sales charge is one time only right? That means deduct sales charge only for the first year's returns.
*
QUOTE(hsyong @ Mar 11 2020, 09:29 PM)
Ah, yes, that's a good way of putting it.
*
QUOTE(j.passing.by @ Mar 11 2020, 09:27 PM)
The sales charge or service charge is only one time.

If you hold the fund several years, you 'amortized' it over several years.
*
Yes, it charge once.
If you invest 1 year in equity fund, if the fund earns 10%, you earn 4.5% only. If the fund lost 10%, you will loss 15.5%.

If you invest 10 years, if the fund earn 60% over 10 years, ypu earn 54.5%, which is 5.45%p.a, not 6%. If the fund earn 30% over 10 years, you earn 24.5%, which is 2.45% p.a, not 3%.

*
Public series fund can switch to public series funds only.
PB series fund can switch to PB series only.

Why do you want to switch to different series? Is PB series better than Public series ?

Not sure if it is cheaper than purchasing through agent, but it is still high, equity up to 5.5% Fixed income up to 1%  sweat.gif
*
Yup, kind of expensive. Fundsupermart 1.75%.
If the agent is doing his job, help to analyse market, rebalance, advise when to sell - buy, still OK to pay 5%. Most agent do not do it despite get high commission.

You can choose none for the utc.
You still need to pay 5.25% sales charge.

other than select 'none"
can i key in the UTC number of someone else instead of predesignated one?
like the UTC of someone i just met?
will he (the new one) get the commission instead of the 'old' UTC if i do so?
*
You can find a new utc, sign new forms. New utc no will appear few days later in PMO portal.

i think u mean bond fund is 0% (but some come with platform fee or redeem fee )

but Bond in FSM got processing charge n platform fee
*
If you want 0% sales charge, 0% platform fee, 0% redemption fee, Opus fulfill it. There is another topic for Opus.

Points to consider: some funds at Public Mutual /fundsupermart have good return in 2018&2019 though charges incur.

Would the UTC know about those that I bought myself if I didn't show him my PMO account?

You are given option to choose your agent no or None. If you choose agent no, your agent will get comission and able to view it.
If you choose none, your agent will not get comission and will not be able to view it.

Why compare to EPF?
Apple to Apple. If compare to others Fund House.
PB overall funds are below the industry average.
Why choose PB?When we can invest directly in EPF investment portal, they have all the lists for us to choose.

Big NO to PB.
Only the agents are promoting.

I started investing in unit trust with public mutual. Now, only buy new funds with fundsupermart.
5% and 1.5% is too huge different.

Any cat that can catch rats is a good rat
If you spend rm5 on charges but get back rm50 in return is also considered as good investment
Is just that if you want to buy Conservative fund or reits fund than better avoid fund that charges high management fee
*
Yes. Fsm got some good equity funds too. Pay rm1.5 also can get RM50 return.
