I'm traveling about 130-150km.. So comfort is a must. I read thru m3 thread and mostly said nvh is bad on m3.. Especially road noise. Is that what you trying to share ? Haha
*
Not only bad nvh.. but also the harsh ride.. Huhuhu.. but what u get is good handling in exchange for that..hehe

Slyphy Good enough dy lu.. try Mazda n u will want to faint lol..if u want to reduce tyre noise, sound proof won't help much..Need foam..
*
I presume you are referring to Mazda 3 when you felt that the tyre noise is not good. A change in more silent tyres on the Mazda 3 don't help much? Personally I am not an advocate of soundproofing the car although it will help in making the car quieter.

not sure whether this apply to ohter car or not . what i  m sure is even nissan tan chong service centre in pj  could not rectify the kluk sound

the grinding sound will check with them again

The car indeed is very quiet when normal cruising is just when it idle when u put in D in gearbox in a
*
Yes, can check with them again. Or you can check with other Sylphy owners and see if they have the same sound in their cars. If other Sylphy owners do not experience the noises, then you will know that your car only shows this sound, and it can be rectified at the SC ie. some part is faulty that is causing the sound.

Bro how's your sylphy fc like? Still contemplating wether to get this or Mazda 3 hmm

Test drive both and see. NVH and comfort are subjective experiences depending on driver's expectation, sensitivity and what car he is comparing with. It will be a pity if you dismiss Mazda 3 based on someone else's perception of NVH. I personally dion't feel that its NVH and comfort are bad and my previous car was a Kia Optima which is known for comfort.

Funny that this new Sylphy 1.8 shows the grinding sound when the car is idle or is traveling up an inclined slope. Not to mention the kluk sound every morning when driving above 60km/h. Are these noises present in ALL cars, or it is only few cars are affected?

FWIW the older generation Sylphy 2.0 does not have any sort of funny noises either from engine, transmission or even inside the car. Just a very quiet car.

i have not experience kluk" noise.. or grinde"

G11 Sylphy look outdated..

OK good to hear that you do not experience any "kluk" or grinding noises in your car. That would suggest that the noises that the other owner experienced in his car are something that is not normal.

Yes, the previous generation Sylphy 2.0 looks outdated. The current Sylphy model looks better.

Really tempted to get this car due to the huge discount and the comfortness of the car. Suitable for small family with sedan. The only thing thats holding me back is the cvt. Still sceptical about the durability and also not much feedbacks from owners beside this tread.. smile.gif

hm last i hear big discount, 3 year free maintenance service and bodykit also 6.5 inch for RM1..

only issues is car manufacture May 2014 NOT CVT... they actually one of the best.. and reliability.. but remember treat with care..

ad-on: if you do chose sylphy.. get the 1.8VL not 1.8E i was told they giv more care to 1.8VL than 1.8E tongue.gif xx+ all extra thing.. like LED ascent light, Headlight(projector xenon) washer, Auto light/ rear mirror.

The sylphy factory soundproof is not bad, only noticeable tyre noise when cruising at >100kmph during test drive. Please share if you manage to further reduce the tyre rolling noise.

smile.gif will do... but Rear Tyre arch, i can only do little to improve, as i check.. got no arch hold or something(i dunno what it call) plastic where usually space can add Foam/soundproof material to reduce water noise flow.. BUT IT will not stop me.. i tear open Rear boot.. and look got space to improve with 2-4 layer silver soundproofing on TOP rear arch...

4 door/Fender is solid now... i think it can stop Bullet. LOL

I've done with my my Nissan Sylphy, though the previous 2.0-litre model. Exactly the same thing to all 4 doors. It cost me RM300 at that time. Claimed USA product and all. No difference in sound as the Sylphy is inherently already a very quiet car. There might be minimal difference, but to my ears close to zero. The only difference is the doors feel heavier to open and close, and when the doors close there is a more solid thud sound rather than a hollow sound without the soundproofing material.

Not sure how quiet is the current 1.8 model, whether it is as quiet as the previous generation 2.0. If it has the same quietness, in my opinion there is no need to spend money on soundproofing the Nissan Sylphy.

WHat are the factory tyres on the Nissan Sylphy 1.8? The previous generation Sylphy 2.0 came with Yokohama Aspec dB tyres. Quiet tyres.
