Hello.. hoping for Recommendation and Opinion and Better Drive Experience(for owner) In Car service.. drive feeling and interior/exterior Quality.. car for Nissan Sylphy 1.8VL (top spec)3year warranty or 100,000Km or Honda Civic 2.0 Navi(top spec) and Honda HIP Insurance is it all that ? 5 year warranty no mileage limit ?? for Honda

Reason for this Question.. End this month or June thinking to buy NEW car Budget RM100K - 125K (yes i know Civic 134K sad.gif but read about 5Year Warranty and HIP insurance.. plan wow! )

Declaration** I am Total Noob in Car.. so before come a post regarding "OH u noob tu dunno eh!? You dunno what that mean eh? " so on..

ADD-ON: Renault Fluence = price and the car interior/exterior with rear camera is wow! RM110K+ problem is Service center is seem to be lacking in kampung /small town..

Thank you ALL FOR opinion much appreciate.. Sorry if my word offended.. but deepest my heart thanx smile.gif all

Lazy fella....search review in <a href='http://www.<link removed>' target='_blank'>paultan</a>. Great website for automobile. Just don't read too much comment from the user there though smile.gif

But seriously, Honda Civic is not really recommended as the model is going to be replaced soon as its about 5 yrs old now I think.

Their site is hopeless... (Mazda). I recommend it because it because it is a better deal compared to Honda Civic or Nissan Sylphy, and it is in the same price range.

TS, the below youtube video can help you make your decision as well.

It's car review from Australia but its quite informative.

*From the video...
  Nissan Pulsar = Nissan Sylphy
  Toyota Corrolla = Toyota Altis
Subaru Impreza = Can be Subaru XV i think

https://youtu.be/pt5UTFuQUys

Hope this helps you make your decision smile.gif
*
base what aussie guy saying Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer is outdated... well not broken why fix ? and Nissan Pulsar unreliable Manual gear.. eh Nissan Sylphy is CVT he also added unreliability CVT in Nissan car... but base on what fact on base.com ppl happy with their CVT.. hm.. but again thx... and Way dis Proton too quick.. i am Melayu malaysia i can't stand dis malay car. (even so i am not buying proton car, but i am using proton car it is great car biggrin.gif )

In the RM100-125k price range, you have many choices. In the end it will depend on what you are looking for a what is more important to you - the exterior looks, interior looks, interior quality, driving experience, NVH, resale value, aftermarket service and support etc.

Apart from the Nissan Sylphy and Honda Civic, you may want to explore Toyota Altis, Mazda 3, Peugeot 408T, Renault Fluence and Ford Focus.

FWIW I have owned the previous generation Sylphy 2.0. Not too sure how the current model compares with the previous generation model but if you want a quiet and comfortable car with smooth acceleration, the Sylphy is a good choice but performance and driving dynamics are lacking. Tan Chong's after-sales service is good if not great.

If you want resale value, Honda Civic and Toyota Altis would be good choices but to me they are overpriced for what they have to offer against other alternatives. Though there is no doubt about their resale. The current Civic is not as popular or well-received when compared to the previous generation Civic though (the previous generation Civic is thought to be the best model Honda had managed to come up with in terms design).

After-sales service and support of Japanese cars (Honda, Toyota and Nissan) are usually reliable when compared to the cheaper continentals. Mazda's support is a bit lacking but is improving.

If you want elevated driving experience compared to the Japanese cars you may want to look at the Ford Focus. But after-sales service is not as good as the Japanese, and resale value is also not as good.

hmm.gif i am .. impress thank you for word.. i will consider the choice you name except the Mazda3 as i feel look sporty to me(i understand most ppl interest in it's look, but way their site.. and lack so many way is kinda tell tale they don't care sad.gif ) yes i am looking for Quiet, comfortable car with smooth acceleration (i got old mother to look after and once while i want her be very comfy when seat for long journey drive JB to KL IJN) hmm MEanwhile Civic /Toyota do have Great Resale value Yes i notice that when i did my First research smile.gif i saw their call still selling 60-70% original value after 5 year.. that is amazing... and why i added to my option of purchase. hmm.gif again Thank you for reply base on my Question notworthy.gif

Actually, for fetching elderly parents = a taller car like the Subaru XV or even Honda HR-V or the upcoming Mazda CX-3 makes sense. Elderly folks find it much easier to get on and off the car!
*
not if elderly got osteoporosis, for them to get into car is painful... and to get out again same.. eh i have to pick/lift her up each time...

if sedan is not the must-have, then may i suggest XV?

if japanese is not the must-have, i'll personally go for Cerato.

if die die also must choose between Sylphy and Civic, sorry to say, Sylphy anytime anyday over Civic.

its vulgar to judge a car from just paper stats

important thing is how a car makes u feel when u driving it

if u look for calm relaxing drive, pick sylphy

nissan place great priority in NVH in these recent years of car making, its a quality not mentioned in brochures, but its one attributes that matter most as driver
*
Thank you for the output.. will consider your word into my research.. smile.gif

If you go for Civic don't get the Navi. The Navi unit is not worth the extra RM7K over the 2.0S. It is probably worth only RM2K.

You should give Mazda 3 a chance. The high spec is cheaper than Civic 2.0S but beat it soundly on specs and equipment. The Mazda website is hard to navigate. Do your research at paultan's website

QUOTE(romuluz777 @ May 17 2015, 11:48 PM)
Do consider the Mazda 3 2.0 high spec CKD. I think its a really good deal at that price with the offered specs for such a good looking car. Thats coming from me, a diehard Honda fan.

No near Service center for MAzda my area.. and i Really do not like the look... But thank you for Recommendation xx Do note: One reason i going for Nissan Saleman Helping me to sell my Unwanted Pesona 1.6 AT(2011) at least it cover my Current Car loan(which is around 23K Nissan Saleman manage to get buyer RM24K) Meanwhile other Proton/Honda/Toyota sales man manage to get trade in value RM22K- 23K sad.gif xx

I book(Brilliant Silver) Nissan Sylphy 1.8VL with IMPUL Complete Kit (17 inch Alloy(design) Sport Spring/ Aerokit body by IMPUL) +Door Visor/Pedal sport/back compartment(Nissan)/ LED Kicker(Nissan) + Standard Tinting 70%(silver) NOTE: all this Pay none Free or complementary... Salesman say get all in than he give me Lum sum Discount/rebate...xx

Total cost RM RM131,818.65 - (Loan 90% RM118,000) = Deposit RM13,818.65 - Booking FEE RM1,000 - RM2,000(NCD 55%) - RM7,318.65 Rebate (Sylphy 2014 November edition) So Total RM4,853.35 and he finally minus RM 3.35 so final pay deposit is RM4.85K biggrin.gif

Finance by AM Bank 90% LOAN 5 year monthly payment RM2,212 FIX rate Interest rate is 2.49% !! (islamic finance reason in-case late payment or delay just 1% penalty charge/Normal conventional commercial charge 5-8% higher)

NOTE : regarding Loan lowest i found/ been offer is by BSN interest 2.29% !! but i have to drive all way to another town... xxx so lazy and difference is just 0.19% Meanwhile BANK Muamalat/MAYBANK worse... 2.87%/2.79% for 5 year 90% loan xx
