With the current state of the industry, how're things like on the training and development side in your companies ?
Do you still get to go for your regular planned courses or are they being cut down ?

Got no time for training. lotsa work to do. lucky my company still got projects.

yes, from shell insider. I dunno how much petronas will scrutinise though... but then as long that the number is viable i suppose.

and since i am not in shell but was once working for an engineering company in kl, i know that for RAPID project, the said engineering company dun have a big say in who they want to send to work for to work in RAPID.

Petronas hv to view their resume and approve.

Even when workload is low and many charging overheads, the said company still can't use their own overhead staff for that project just bcuz petronas duwan so they have to hire new ppl under petronas approval. So those overhead ppl just help up but not charging to RAPID. just charge overhead.

Just join any of recruitment campaign organised by head hunter firms(Think+, AP, JV), like previous Aramco mass hiring also majority from Petronas, follow by Shell

6000 employees of shell currently for msia.

Part of them 1/3 (approx 2000) will be taken by petronas, as petronas and other operators (small) will take most of the assets from shell.

These 2000s might face retrenchment in a year to come as the operators are loaded wit their own ppl

The remaining 4000s shell employees, 1300 will be cut as announce by shell

Leaving 2700 shell survivors for the near future time being

Petronas... If they do cut, it is like nailing to the coffin

From what I hear, 1 mnc may close shop and shift operation to india...

And local ong co may get project due to the dwindling of oil supply already
