What about Tok Bali Supply Base? Is it true that Tok Bali Supply Base is 3rd largest supply base in Malaysia after Kerteh and Labuan? Anyone mind to share job opportunity here?  tongue.gif
*
Supply base is at Kemaman, not Kerteh. Sorry I have limited information about Tok Bali supply base, perhaps some Kelantanese peoples in this thread can update about the progress - piling sudah cucuk ke belum? Who will be the dredging contractor?

Having another supply base at East Coast area is a good thing to support Upstream bunkering & berthing activities. At least giving employment opportunities to Kelantan peoples at large.

If I have capital I would like to run a business related to bunkering for O&G, too bad I'm just a small fry...

All other companies in this world except Petronas already started their human slashing activities since last year when the oil price strike USD40.
Is not lucky Petronas are diversified with business, is more on political drive to make sure petronas continue to run white elephant projects. Each quarter from beginning 2015 Petronas are making new low record on profit and they are using their reserve money to pay dividend.
But since most active SKL here are working directly or indirectly with Petronas, so must polish their boss's balls clean clean to give other readers on false information that O&G in malaysia still blooming thumbup.gif

Ya I truely believe in you. I wish I can lick your balls too.

Guys is AED 38,000 per month salary is good enough for living at Abu Dhabi? Accommodation & transportation included, the only drawback its single package. One year contract.

My only worry is the roles is not under the client payroll but it will be under pak arab punya third manpower company. I read some of horror story by those pak arab third party manpower bayar gaji lambat, and some cases tak bayar langsung.

Tuan,

A friend of mine has a similar package and salary but is in Sudan instead only concern is third party payroll as u mentioned.
*
Yeszaaa I don't mind if my payroll under reputable third party manpower like Brunel, Orion, Leap29 etc but those local pak arab companies had me to think twice.

I really wish if the roles under direct hire contract with clients at least I feel secure with salary payment.

May I know what is the salary scale for an engineer with 5 years O&G experience in the Middle East?

I might be wrong, best guess around AED 15k to 20k per month, depending on the package offered.

Ya I will thanks, meanwhile I've been looking for jobs since months ago.

Since I'm Sarawakian, I'm avoiding KL now.

Tired of the lifestyle & non-stop rising cost of living.

Abang Yakup, mohon tanya any kangtao in Sarawak now?
*
Hai Jianh. Sorry to hear about your news, stay strong bro. Its not the end of the world.

If you interested to join fabrication line, you may consider OceanMight (they just clinched WHP fabrication project from Talisman) and Brooke Dockyard (on-going SA-SA Topside by Murphy). I do have their HR email (I know them very well) so you may PM me for details.

If you heading to Bintulu & Miri at the moment for Upstream jobs, not so much activities going on right now except for upcoming FIP and UWILD/IRM jobs by PCSB-SKO. Sorry can't help you much on this.

The only hot thing right now at Bintulu for downstream project is new construction of petchem plant nearby ABF which owned by South Korea investor (Hu-Chem) where the main EPCC would be Hyundai. Get yourself updated to buy The Borneo Post newspaper regularly as most of job vacancies posted there.

Else, for non-O&G project at Bintulu is always at Samalaju area for numerous heavy smelter projects. Lotsa of them.

Train-9 LNG project is in commissioning phase right now, not so much works.

You may try to solicit jobs with Alam Maritim for upcoming EPIC and tie-in works for PFLNG-1 soon, schedule on first quarter of 2016.

Typical turnaround & shutdown activities for MLNG, normal as usual. Can try local contractors like Sumatec, Justrite Construction, Dialog, Muhibbah, Rotary, Serba Dinamik etc

Godspeed.

Several years back, there is an effort to have another fab yard at Sepanggar area, initiate by Sabah state govt (SIP & Boustead JV). I wonder the progress of their license with Petronas still ongoing or not.

In other news, LSE really dry right now no new project after Permas.

been there, was with Aker *intermark*, then on January when Statoil project almost end I kena hantar g Port Klang for CI Engineer, lepastu April kena retrench. Not to say that I am lucky to be kicked out early, but back then during the months there are still company hiring and manage to get into SLB .

Bet of luck, shoot your email everywhere hoping that it lands somewhere good.

in SLB itself now, every time I shoot an email I will get a bounce back email. 'Presence unknown' in the status of Lync is what I fear the most now.

Hugs to all Oil and Gas fraternity, we are all in this together.

I remember you. Its good to hear you are now with SLB nod.gif

Last month I apply the roles for Contract Analyst with SLB, for geomarket division based at Rohas Perkasa. Belum ada feedback sampai sekarang haha. Relaks jer lah.

I don't want to sugar coat my statement but job market is tough right now. Besides competing among retrenched locals, don't forget returning Malaysian from Middle East who are also try to grab jobs in local market too. Everyone is nose diving their rates right now.

Trust me, in OnG, when ppl say will absorb you into the service, it means YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING AS CONTRACTOR FOR AT LEAST 10 years with them. With only 2 years in contract in OnG, sorry to say this: NOT GONNA HAPPEN. NEVER WILL. STOP DREAMING.THERE IS A REASON WHY THERE IS CONTRACT AND PERMANENT IN OnG INDUSTRY.

My advice, stay with the OnG now with minimum 5 years in it (doesn't matter if it is contract), then you can choose to move out to another industry. 5 years exp in a resume will LOOK DAMN GOOD, compared to only 2 years then switch to other industry. Remember, 2 years in OnG vs 5 years in OnG resume is a lot of difference and tells a lot about you.
*
I agree on this.
