Hi there,

Need help icon_question.gif from all/expertise regarding my ADA885. Here is the detail.

Scenario:

1- Previously working as normal just sometime the sub is in/out due to temperature.
2- A day before outstation i left my speaker by turned off using remote but forget to turned off the power source.
3- After a week, come back home & turned on the speaker, the problems appeared. Buzzing/Humming all the time either volume up/down.
4- Though might be due to not plug the analog (green) cable properly, but its not working. The buzzing/humming still continue and no audio sound at all. rclxub.gif

Troubleshooting:

1- Open the sub cover to find the abnormal mark (burnt/smell/fry). Seems like everything is OK. hmm.gif
2- Googling every single thing, not really good news. sweat.gif few links below almost hit:

"There are 2 ways to test the speaker system:
press the button on the back of the subwoofer case and it cycles through. Press and hold the MODE button on the right front sat until it says "noise" then release and it will put noise out sequentially until you press MODE again."

not yet.. will test n let u know.. -).

tested.. not working.. sweat.gif

Must check is the speaker blown or the amp's output blown.
2 different repair method.
I may consider replacing it with other fullrange speakers.

Left speaker and both amp's output blown. i changed both amp's output. I tested with right satellite speaker, its fine and left side, kaput.
I tested the blown speaker using AA battery method, seems like blown (tiny sound ony). Not sure if got other way to troubleshoot and repair.? hmm.gif
What u prefer for the other fullrange speaker bro.? Thanks for advice. thumbup.gif

Size of the speaker? I only have contact to get Visaton speakers, that's it. As I also waiting my ADA885's speakers to fail and change it.
Freaking lasting(touch wood) and plenty of juices.

hmm.gif . I'm not much with audiophile and didn't have any intention to go fullrange speaker. sweat.gif . Missed my ADA885 and still hoping to find the resolution. sad.gif

Well, if the speakers failed and amp still ok, you just need to replace the speakers and good to go.
