Hi everyone! First time following this thread and got to learn a lot of stuff. I would like to build a rig ( I've been a laptop gamer my whole life ) that would last me quite a while. Since I'm still new to getting to know about desktop parts, pls forgive me for asking too many questions.

[Budget] - 16-20k

[Purpose] Gaming ( Long term ) with occassional photoshop + render

[Hardwares that will be re-use]

[Monitor resolution] 4k Ultra, prefer 2 monitor ( 1 big, 1 small )

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Steam games - Dota 2, Project CARS, Crysis Software - PS, 3Dmax, words

[Personal preferences]
Monitor - Looking at Dell U3415W Curve monitor along with a smaller side monitor ( 24")

GPU - I'm pondering between Titan X ( single or SLI ) and also GTX980. As mentioned in this thread, games later on might require more VRAM, what is a better option for a long term such as 5-7 years from now.

Processor - Prefer i7

MOBO - For such a build, what is a recommended MOBO?

Soundcard - Would like to add one.

RAM - 16GB

Addling CPU and GPU coolers.

Will be going for a a full tower build.

[Location] Penang. But don't mind travelling for the purchase.

For a rig like this what are the main concerns I should be more aware of? Will it eat up a lot of power?

Thank you for any replies in advance =)

Oh, see the budget and my commend "it gonna be fun"... whistling.gif

Well, I can advice you this thread is not really for people with such budget, directly contact those high end custom build sellers like drivenheat, APES, Idealtech and so on, you can't go wrong with anything at the budget... sweat.gif

Okay biggrin.gif will contact them for arrangements. Thank you.

But before that, just incase they suggest you random stuffs, tell them that you want a Haswell-E (Enthusiast), DDR4 RAM and Intel X99 mobo rig, they will do the rest for you.

Also, some extra words of advice. You can pretty much build a really high end and powerful RIG with the budget but that doesn't mean it will stay as powerful in 5 or more years to go. Upgrading and optimizing parts from time to time according to your needs will usually pay off better than getting an end game specs monster PC now and hope it last for 5 to 10 years.

Will definitely be optimizing and putting in maintenance for the parts from time to time. Technology run so fast nowadays, new stuff keep popping up faster rclxub.gif but thanks for the advice. I need that kickstart to know what is good from the standard and stick on that guideline biggrin.gif
