QUOTE(Minecrafter @ Jun 23 2015, 04:21 PM) I think Cycom are selling the Zotac GTX960 at RM726. Ic, Im thinking of building my new rig from Jayacom but only for GC i would buy it from lyn seller, do you think they are mind with it coz they offer a bundle price if build a rig from them? You can ask CyntrixTech or TechView if the RM699 promo is still going. |

Bro sifu, just a quick question. I would like to buy an SSD to install the os/ aim for fast boot, so does ssd affect much on boot durations compared to hdd?
Final question, what brand should I go if my budget is 100 - 200+. Lite-on or Plextor? |

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Jul 15 2015, 11:04 PM) Windows 8.1 boot time on SSD is very fast, under 10 - 15 seconds can get you into desktop already. Normal HDD will take at least 1 min (in my case) to reach desktop and get all the startup programs done and ready. Yea I did turn on the fastboot for Win 8.1 but apps like Google chrome & other utilites software boot like snail after I upgrade to this windows, so Im quiet fed up with this hahaha. One of the main differences you will notice is the launch time of browsers, Chrome launches instantly on SSD when you click it even on a cold boot but it would take at least 5 seconds on HDD If max budget is RM 200, you cannot get Liteon nor Plextor, both of them are priced > RM 200 for 128GB unless you search for their OEM SSD which is slightly cheaper. Kingston V300 128GB might fit your budget but the newer batch of V300 is using cheap NAND which slows down the overall performance. But you will still notice the speed difference even with the cheap NAND compared to HDD. Oh yea I just stroll around at hdd section & bump onto this APACER AS510S PRO SERIES 128GB @ RM199 is it okey? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3431674 |

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Jul 15 2015, 11:18 PM) Not much review online Okey thanks bro, if you said so then i could increase my budget abit for better ssd.But it will definitely bring improvement to windows/apps boot time compared to HDD. If I were you, I will save up a little bit more to get the Liteon/Plextor SSD. But the choice is yours How about this : KINGSTON HYPER-X FURY 120GB/240GB SATA III 2.5'' SSD @ RM 238 is it have the same nand use on the v300? |
