Hi k3 experts.

I am using my k3 for two months now. Still using stockrom.
It is a AP new set bought from 1gadget online Lelong
I didn't change the ROM cos I thought it should be good enough. But sadly no, these are my problems:

1. Keyboard slow or non responsive, quite frequent.
When I encounter this, I had to clear all other apps from task. If it doesn't work, I had to screen off and on to make it work.

2. Night mode
I have a habit of surfing before sleep, so I use the lowest brightness and night mode. But very often, the brightness will toggle brighter suddenly ..and I can't readjust back. It will go back to my preferred brightness after a while .like a spoilt kid temper...

3. Wifi speed problems
What I hated the most is this. The speed of surfing, facebook and other apps that uses wifi ... Is simply terrible. It is as slow as a turtle, even though I am using 8mb streamyx and having at least 3 bars signal. It is not my wifi problem cos my other phones, tablet, PC has no problem of slow wifi speed at all. The weird thing is if I disabled wifi and use my 4g mobile data, it is much faster like any normal phone ... Really don't understand what's wrong. I tried everything

4. Running more than 4 basic apps like phone book, facebook, Gmail, WhatsApp
The phone becomes laggy and sometimes hang a little, which I had to screen on and off to get them working. Because of this, I had to keep clearing the tasks and apps running in the background

That said.  Any recommendation the best ROM and steps I can changed to? To resolve my problems.

Just to add.
I deleted facebook and all non essential apps.
I also ensure all apps notifications to be unchecked so there isn't any notifications from non essential . Only WhatsApp and Gmail has normal notifications.

I also use greenify every day to clear and force close apps...to hibernate

No effect or improvement. quite sad.

Thanks for your reply. I tried the whole night trying to root it first, but it wasn't successful. After when i enter the last step to fastboot reboot recovery, cmd just stuck at "waiting for device".

Any tips? I suspect it is because mine is already marshmallow...so it's more difficult?

There are so many different guides, row, ROM, flashing method, rooting method, I am so confused.

Guys, finally I've joined the club.

Got my K3 Note to replace my trusty old Z10. I love BB10 OS but due to some circumstances I just had to be apart and move on with life.

I just wanted a decent phone with good camera capability and the K3 Note didn't let me down.

Now my phone is running stock Android 6.0 (I guess the dealer pre-flashed it for me), stock Lenovo launcher, Blackberry keyboard, and that's it. Not planning on rooting anytime soon.

OK not sure what did I do wrong here.

My K3 Note details....
- Unrooted (confirmed using Root Checker)
- Currently running custom ROM K50-t5_S422_160315_ROW

I want to flash to stock ROM K50a40_S427_160518_ROW. I already installed Lenovo USB driver 1.1.16, hoping that I could get OTA updates in the future.

My problem is that it seems that SP Flash Tool won't 'download' or 'flash' the rom to my phone. Nothing happens. I'm pretty sure I followed the correct instruction, but I could miss something.

I'm using Win10 64-bit btw....if that helps

at last I am able to flash using SP Tool

I don't know why, but I had to play trick with the battery.

TURN OFF PHONE --> PULL OUT BATT --> PRESS DOWNLOAD (sp tool) --> RECONNECT USB TO PHONE --> INSERT BATT (only then the sp tool detects my phone and flashing starts)

When holding A7000+ vertically, the right hand side of the touchscreen is most of the time unresponsive, so I have to key in by holding the phone horizontally. I search this thread on "touch" n found that this is quite common. My phone's factory-warranty ends on 23-9-2016 but I bought it on 27-10-15. I was thinking of bringing it for repair b4 23-9-16 while still under warranty. I need to find out the following b4 doing so:
1. Where is the nearest service centre to SS2, PJ? [B][I]Menara Berjaya Sompo Jln Imbi[I][B]
2. What should I do to the phone b4 sending it for repair (need to backup n format the phone) ? backup
3. Normally, do I have to leave it behind n collect on other day?At least 3 days

Did the above but problems still persist, looks like have to send in for repair.

The CS mentioned that there are 2 lenovo service centres in PJ:

2. Mobile Technic, Amcorp Trade Centre PJ

Which one provides better service?

Called Ingram 0379602199, told them my problem, they have the spare part, I sent in n four hours later I got back my phone with a new screen.  Best experience.    Good service. Plenty of free parking very convenient.

BTW, how to lock/unlock the screen instead of using the power button?

1. Any problem using SD cards larger than 32GB after flashin to Marshmallow? I might be getting 32GB or 64GB but haven't decided whether to use it as internal or external storage. 64GB is probably the max I'd get. Any larger I'll just backup through OTG usb or something.

2. Between Sandisk Ultra and Sandisk Extreme is there a significant difference in performance when used as internal storage?

You must install TWRP via SP Flash tool - once successful then just flash the SuperSU chainfire in TWRP
