QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Apr 30 2015, 11:04 AM) The annual return for bond funds ranges from 3% to 10%. It can be short term, mid-term or long term bonds. The risk rating can be from 1 to 5. Since you already have a high risk portfolio, aim for bond funds with risk rating of 2 and below. I will only show you the tree. You have to choose the fruits. Please read the FSM webpage for the different available bond funds and also FSM's recommended bond funds. Good luck! I have 25% in a bond fund. But I have no idea if there is a crash of the market, will bond fund be spared ?

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Apr 30 2015, 03:19 PM) I believe the sifus in this forum have answered your question. To minimise the risk, perhaps you may want to restrict your portfolio to bond funds with risk rating of 2 or below. Bond funds with higher risk ratings will also fluctuate like equity funds. For example, I am now holding the RHB-OSK Asian Total Return Fund with a risk rating of 4. To date, the paper loss is -3.66%. It is the second worst performing fund in my entire portfolio. Haha I just check the bond I purchased, it is rated as 4.

Guys I have a really simple question.
When a fund is said to be "NAV as at" a particular date, is it talking about the closing of the date or the beginning of the day ?
For example, NAV as at 12 May 2015 is xx,xxx.00. Is it talking about the value as at the end of the day ?

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 15 2015, 10:18 AM) Can we apply creativity in making investment decisions? What would your answer be to the following question posed by a top police officer? It has nothing to do with investment but shows how we think. This is like asking, would invest in a fund or a stock based on the historical data or you would invest based on the fancy and sexy future painted by the stock analysts ?

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ May 21 2015, 12:38 AM) Lol i just want to clarify something. .lets say i invest rm 1k in fund a and after a month it went up to 1.1k (just hypothetical )..must i sell fund and buy again myself to start with 1k or will fsm manage the fund for me?? As in i withdraw all 1.1k and reinvest 1.1k so can grow more, or just leave it and let fsm do that?? Coz got service charge summore Inknow this is a noob question but over the past 1 year i dont see any major change in the amount i invested. Very rock solid fund indeed. Maybe too stable and it's time to switch to a more dynamic fund.

QUOTE(MUM @ May 21 2015, 07:56 AM) maybe this helps.... How Do You Identify When To "Buy Low, Sell High"? When it comes to investing, the rule of thumb is to “buy low, sell high”, but it is easier said than done. The question is: how do you identify whether the market is “low” or “high”? http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...?articleNo=3346Allow me to say not very applicable to fund investments. More for individual stocks.
