For those who have China fund for a few years.. whats your reaction to the recent rise? Did you sell or hold? Reason?

I have my eyes on Manulife India now. It is looking as attractive as a Bollywood star now.

Currently down about -10.50% in one month with an annualised volatility of 17.23. Its worst performance was in the year 2011 when it lost 32.79%. Yesterday Manulife India went up +2.40%. Talk about volatile.

The vultures are circling over this wounded tiger...

I am not an academician. I am putting my money where my mouth is.

For the past week, I have bought into Manulife India and AmBRIC. This morning I topped up CIMB China, CIMB Global Titans, Ponzi 2 and TA European Equity Fund. No fresh fund. Just intra switched from my bond funds.

Am I brave or foolish? Only time will tell.
*
Also topped up ponzi 2 today. thinking of selling Aberdeen and hwang asean flexi to buy into India. I'm also too heavy in China. Will switch some to Japan growth.

Eh, I am also thinking of selling my Aberdeen World as well to pour more money into BRIC, China and India. There is no right or wrong answer whether we should do so.  As long as our asset allocation is not severely affected, no harm in selling Aberdeen.

In my case, I still have the CIMB Global Titans Fund and Ta European Equity Fund even if I sell my Aberdeen. Just need to top up more on these funds and the Affin Japan Growth Fund later to make up for the shortfall after selling Aberdeen.

Aberdeen is not a bad fund. Quite stable. But I am in a rush.  biggrin.gif

in a rush- that makes two of us lol. im not looking for aberdeen stable but im also not in 'metal' rush.
i have some global titans too but not too fond of it. usually i buy whatever low i see along the way.

mind to share your definition of "low"?  notworthy.gif

my low = for example ponzi 2 last week and india now.
im very new in fsm. only started this year. previously invested through agents, have never build a portfolio myself. so i'm trying and testing as i go hoping to learn through experience the hard way.

I topped up TA European and China-India yesterday (transaction date 19/5) and got the price today which both went up over 1%. it means that I've bought at a much higher price sleep.gif

how do you decide if it's a good day to top up? Why today why not yesterday or tomorrow? A really noob question. Please don't beat me up lol.
