When aurora97 proposes the idea that foreign fund will outperform Malaysian focus focus funds with potential upside from currency appreciation, no one bats an eye, when aurora97 uses SGD income as an EXAMPLE, everyone loses their minds.

Sorry no memes, takes too much effort.

Good morning all. Been a while since I was active here. Sadly, all I see is red on my FSM funds. Sigh. So the question is where are we heading?

If TAlor-KerchUT symptom (aka TAKUT syndrome)manifest and overwhelm you then sell all and park in Money Market Fund. Then slowly transfer say 10% every mth into equities until your talor-kecut symptom overwhelm you again. Rinse, repeat ad nauseum...

Diagnosis, Dx: TAKUT syndrome

Epidemiology: Wide spread, even amongst seasoned investors (specimen who use technical tools such as Algozen™ may be less affected but there is no large scale multi-centered double-blind placebo controlled meta-studies to confirm this). Evenly distributed among male and female with older species more affected than young ones.

Prescription, Rx: Sell, Park and DCA again

Prognosis, Px: Good recovery.

Eunitrust (Phillip Mutual Bhd) account opening form got option to get distribution in form of cash proceed.

Eunitrust ----- 1
FSM ---------- 0

Xuzen

p/s but why want cash proceed? Just sell your units to get the cash lar... because if you get the distribution in cash, nanti-nanti you change mind want to buy, you will be charged the sales charge again. If distribution proceed, no sales charge.

I think the members here have no mood to talk already. The markets are bleeding. My YTD also fell to 4.35%.

Noob question, when you pay for your unit trusts for FSM SG, does it mean you pay in RM and it is converted to SGD? In other words, we will also suffer from the weaker ringgit when buying unit trusts priced in SGD?

Fresh data just available! Will be tinkering with Algozen™ this weekend. Stay tuned next week for its findings.

p/s Looking back overall China has been a very volatile market i.e., sekejap up, sekejap down; but in this one mth period my equity portion has moved up 1.83% in one mth period, also mainly from my Greater China exposure.

Come to think about it....

Market is very volatile, that we all know. But if you practice DCA or VCA, properly asset allocated and alway find the optimal risk adjusted portfolio....

In the long run, we will beat the market.

All the above are the ingredients for baking the Algozen™ cake, which is directly based on lessons learned from Modern Portfolio Theory.

In China one may prosper, but be aware one may also flounder;
Reduce slightly but don't ignore completely;
Small cap is a good friend, but too much he may turn out to be a fiend;
maintain a close watch so that you do not lose heart;
Tech Sector is a surprise; mainly US offer some sunrise;
If one is too worried, then best move to balanced Asia Pac x-Jp in a hurry!
Thus Algozen™ have spoken.

If you are in the market, by now you know how volatile the China market is... one day up 1 to 2 %, next day down 3 to 4%; but nonetheless despite all these up and down, after a 30 days period the UT I chose made a 1 to 2 % gain.

This is my personal opinion: this China volatility reminds me of M'sian during the 80's super bull run period where everyone locally was speculating on the stock market and making quick buck here and there. Contra play & margin play and all these bullshits speculative instruments came in and make the whole market into a feeding frenzy.

However, fundamentally China is a strong emerging market and over a longer period we will see more value being unlocked which will reward patient investors. Having said that I am reducing my exposure to China.

Wrt US, she will not give you major gain, but it is climbing steadily which I think is the market factoring in the impending rate hike. Hence this translate to the surprise TA Global Tech gain which holds 50% in US tech stock. Global Titan fund is also a good one, but when I throw it into Algozen™, she prefers TA Global Tech over Global Titan. Pure US equity, look out for US small to mid cap... they offer better upside. But the numbers are still not exiting enough for me to go in.

Small cap M'sia is a very good diversifier to all these large cap I mentioned above. I actually have increase slightly my exposure to it.

If you are a not so gung-ho and have lower risk appetite, put your money in a broad base Asia-Pac ex Jp balanced fund.

"If you're a novice investor -- or you're looking to brush up on a specific investing concept -- this is the place to start. FSM tailored this section to give you the investment foundation that you need. FSM believe it is important that you first acquire this knowledge, because only then would you be able to take charge of your own financial planning and be great at managing your financial wealth.

Those of them there at Fundsupermart believe passionately that unit trusts are the best investment instruments to help achieve our long term financial goals. So in there, FSM will show you the basics of financial planning, tutor you on the finer points of unit trust investing, and help you make better investment decisions! "

On this "what i heard most is Kenanga & CIMB Asia Dynamic....is it true?"
Use the "FUNDS INFO" tool in the FSM website to see their performance records..
Just a note: Past performance may have no indication of future performance....the fund that you select must be within your goal and risk appetite too..

u are the expert in economist, analyst, financial, risk assessment, market condition, and maybe everything.
but compared to noob person like me, few lines of help might be greatly beneficial.

take myself for example, i had no harm repeating same info for 1,025,623,025 times on explaining how to manage phone contact in iphone section or android section.  biggrin.gif
i m not calling my self expert in iphone or smartphone, but still the concept is the same.

QUOTE(Mayet @ Jun 26 2015, 04:00 PM)
btw, what do your guys think what is the impact of US over night interest rate increment to our share market?
do you think it will happen in 2H 2015?
Thanks.
*
Serious answer:

i) Recall that US interest rate was very low for quite some time now. Because of these it was very cheap to borrow money from bank and buy up assets. Liquid cash is like water it will flow to the lowest point and start to fill up from there. Hence cheap money will flow to the assets that are the cheapest.

ii) Recall that many assets have been inflated especially the emerging market (bonds, stock-market and real estate)

iii) To cut the story short, should US raise rate, the trend reverse, money becomes expensive, borrowers will sell their assets to pay their debt. Since those easy money came in to emerging market when it is cheapest... it is also the where they will take profit first.

iv) Hence they will start selling these assets to pay back their debt in US.

It is just a reversal of money flow.

rclxub.gif despite the drop in shanghai, HK, etc... somehow unit price didn't drop as much as i thought it would...

MYR is THAT weak eh?

to top up or not to top up???

Because the drop is mainly in A-share which is out of bound for non-Chinese investors.

Our UT uses HK proxy which is H-share.

I reduce my China exposure by 20%, increase my local small cap by 10% and also start entering the Tech sector. Small cap and tech are rotational play. My style is actively manage because my wrap account allows me unlimited free switch, so if you are those who have to pay sales charge on every transaction... then my style of investing is not for you.
