KLCI was down 18.55 points or 1.08% to 1,691.92 – the lowest since mid-December 2014 and the index is down 3.94% year-to-date.

Among the key regional markets,

Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 2.88% to 20,209.95;

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 2.61% to 25,966.98;

Shanghai’s Composite Index fell 3.34% to 4,053.03;

Shenzen Composite Index plunged 6.05% to 2,351.40;

Taiwan’s Taiex lost 2.39% to 9,236.10;

South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.42% to 2,060.49 and

Singapore’s Straits Times Index fell 1.23% to 3,280.18.
