You should be lucky to work for clueless CEO or better still those that don't even bother about the business and make you do everything from accounting to business development.

That way you can really understand the business, create relationship with the existing clients and make mistakes at your bosses expense. Then learn enough come out and set up your own business and take all his customers and suppliers.

A bad CEO is one that treats you well, never make you work OT, give good benefits, compensate you at or above market value and handles all of the important job himself leaving you to just do only your job. That is the worse kind of CEO coz you will never learn anything beyond your scope of work and you will have absolutely 0% chance of starting your own business.

You'll be surprised. the CEO will ask you to do that presentation while he goes off to play a round of golf. He may or may not know what's going in but Even better for you. Gain the trust of the board so you can oust him in the future, if need be.
