I understand completely, however I don't agree that it's not something enjoyable to watch because opinions differ. And because I do not have any good location to film and no actress or actors (lol) to film some good videos I have in mind (not sure what type of videos you are looking for) for now because of some reasons. Thank you for your feedback! Really appreaciate it smile.gif

Honestly, been thinking of setting up a channel of my own, with my classmates (so no shortage of actors/actresses biggrin.gif )

Location is important, sure, but wouldn't you say its just a matter of coming up with content that suits your logistics?

I feel that a lot of Malaysian/Singaporean comedy youtubers take a very lazy route - a lot of their comedy focuses on MAlaysianizing everyday situations, often to the point of it being grossly exagerated (though this part is fine, comedy needs this).

The problem is that their jokes, their content, their concepts, are incapable of standing on their own as humour. No one except other Malaysians can watch it an laugh.

Try looking at some foreign channels. Their skits are enjoyed the world over because they stand by themselves as funny.

If you don't have a lot of actors, just take a look at Jake and Amir from college humour. Those bastards are terrific, and their two people shorts lasted 8 years, with a steady following throughout.

I made my channel not with the idea of making funny skits, however it turned out to be like that :/ I'm just trying out different videos to see people's reactions. (I wanted to do some social experiments too) XD

To attract:
Wide audience -- What makes you thing foreigners do not watch those "Malaysian" videos :|? Just my opinion lol
Malaysians -- Well, we watch foreigners youtube videos too, right? Ryanhiga, pewdiepie, whoever it is..

So.. What's the problem with making those type of videos? Just make any video!(you might not find it interesting but maybe others will) If the content is not outstanding or to your liking, then just ignore it. And, I don't really watch any Malaysian/Singaporean Ytbers, it's a bit boring for me. They are all getting too similar

Talking about the channel you recommended, not much people would ever watch me doing that lol, not even myself. Need actor/actress haha.. (As you can see even their views are quite low too maybe because 8 years?) But MirandaSings for an example she is still going on strong (8/9 yrs?) all her videos are doing great! then again opinions differ. Btw, I want to assert that there are barely any female Youtubers getting into the Youtube market if not for their beauty channels. (Not that it's impossible, just a little harder and a longer period of time).

Whatever it is good luck on your channel too! Mind listing some of your fav Youtubers?

I doubt foreigners watch our MAlaysian videos because

1) Youtube definitely suggests channels and videos based on your geographical location, which means the oonly foreigners who will have heard or seen local channels will be the ones who are using local ISPs. If they are alreaady familiar enough with Malaysian culture, then for all intents and puroses they are Malaysian.

2) I didn't say foreigners don't watch it. They might, but I don't think they will find it entertaining, because of how Malaysian the videos are, for one thing, and the fact that once you isolate that factor the video is incredibly boring. smile.gif

I agree that they are all becoming similar. Every single video is a list form, where they depend on a sexy girl and Malaysian specific dialogue to carry weak and overdone content, not to mention bad acting.

I can't make videos I'm not interested in just to appeal to people biggrin.gif That's like selling out while you're still poor.

I would totally watch ANYONE making videos like that. smile.gif You don't need to get a lot of people. Just two or three people (including you and your bro) and you can make terrific content.

Tried miranda, she's alright.

Assss for Youtubers, I don't any favourite ones. Is Nigahiga considered a ytuber? Most of the time I watch shorts and skits like Jake and Amir, MadTV, WhitestKidsYouKnow.

How’s it going, bros?

I myself just started my YouTube channel about a month ago and the plan is to go full force on it. nod.gif
Since this is a movie thread, I appreciate if you would check out these 2 episodes from 2 different series and let me know what you think about it.

Movie Buff's Reiew Series | Episode # 1 | Furious 7
Official Trailer's Impression Series | Episode # 2 | Southpaw

I certainly appreciate the show of local support through your “Likes” and “Thumbs Up” and lastly but most importantly, if you like what you’ve watched, consider subscribing, it helps me in more ways thant you can ever imagine. smile.gif

You take care and stay awesome, bros. thumbup.gif
