as uncle benny said
most of the SC staff are stupid, they don't care whether you root or not whistling.gif
haha I very worry stuck in boot, that why all the time I root all are fully charge 1st biggrin.gif
*
I mean Knox triggered not root. Is better you unroot completely before sending in . Just use the 2 step process I had mentioned using supersu Pro app.
I rooted my S6 Edge n the collection center guy was nice enough to remind me to unroot it before sending in to service center. I unroot on the spot n hand phone over. At the end motherboard change free of charge even with knox triggered!!

You unrooting your phone permanently by using SuperSU pro?

Or you will gain back the root access after rebooting our phone?
*
The root won't reappear after reboot. There will be no root access at all. You must reroot again to have root

ooo, but also can unroot by reflash the ROM using odin which require pc
thanks for the advise icon_rolleyes.gif
btw what wrong with your s6, why send to warranty and change motherboard shocking.gif ??
ya so better unroot 1st laugh.gif

My S6 Edge on week 3 the earpiece speaker went bust and we couldn't hear dialing tone and other party voice. I was initially told speakers need to be replaced but at the end of the day Samsung replace the whole motherboard. Got phone back in 6 days. I sent it in through a Samsung authorised collection center as no service center at my town.

Yeap. Irmb some1 here w 7hsot in kk. And he us not using greenify. So shud b can

That is sadly an illusion. What other users can hit does not necessarily mean you can hit it too. Different users use their phones differently. Those who talk less , don't play games and use less internet access ( especially on 3G/LTE) will have better SOT

since there is a special hotline for s6 and s6 edge user biggrin.gif
I play games + data + surf fb & twitter
so almost my phone daily hit 4-5 SOT
consider very good already, so daily charge 1 time

I didn't know there is such a pickup service
I sent in to their authorised collection center - found it listed in those monthly Samsung product brochures.

You don't need any " balls" to root. The chance you brick your phone us 1 in a billion or more
Only dumb guys can brick rooting it
Just download the correct root file n follow instructions strictly n you will find it freaking easy
Again I would advised if you worry about warranty even with phone fully unrooted but knox remain triggered DON'T root!

Hi guys,

Hands itchy wanna try CM12, can i flash the rom into my phone? Using chain fire root now.. possible? will it trigger knox?
Will it cause any problems if i keep on flashing and flashing?
*
Knox already triggered with root
You need to install either TWRP or CWM recovery to flash custom rom. Since you had rooted just use the app Flashify to flash the recovery.img file - fast n easy.
Just google for these img files n easily found. I always prefer to use TWRP
What problems ?? Flashing n continual flashing will not harm your phone
CM12 roms will not allow you to use SNote app n all the Samsung stuffs n most Samsung features unavailable. You can still use SPen but limited functions

Is it also a tar5 file just like chain fire root?
Me noob a bit when it comes to TWRP and/or CWM stuff
Thanks for the feedback uncle...
*
If tar file use Odin in PC to flash
Easiest use the img file as no need connect to PC . Just use app flashify
I thought you are experienced Android user???

I had rooted my note 4 thanks to owlheart and uncle Benny. ..

I had install titanium backup pro but why I can't chg the backup folder to SD card?

Pls help....tia
*
Preferences/backup folder n select search all devices
Create first a TitaniumBackup folder in your ext sdcard first or copy over any existing copy if you have
Spend time going through all features of the app especially the great batch functions by selecting the note w tick logo at top right corner
Is obvious you had not even research into all features of this app

In lollipop you cannot generally write onto ext sdcard
Easy solution n since phone rooted install free app nextapp sdfix. Run it n reboot n you can now write onto ext sdcard for all app
Run titanium again n you will be able to write n no more insufficient storage errors

My old friend went against my advise n attempted to install xposed mod on his Note4 ( on lollipop). The phone went into a continuous bootloop
At least he had earlier on did a nandroid backup
He took off battery n restarted in recovery mode n got phone fully restored in 5 mins

One tip : when I tested CWM recovery for him I noted CWM had error recognizing ext sdcard. Mounting card again in CWM doesn't help either
At the end I use flashify app to install TWRP recovery img file to have TWRP recovery installed. This work perfectly
No idea what happen with CWM n didn't explore it further

NOTE 5 : Personally 1080p display is more than sufficient
I would prefer a slight bigger display say 5.9 inch
Maintain the removable battery n ext SDcard
Increase battery size to 4000mAh.
TW more debloated as like S6 Edge . S6 still has some hopeless added on apps which I uninstalled or frozen ( needed root to do that)

Uncle benny.....can u help as my wakelock detector doesn't seem to work....it's not lollipop issue as u manage to install for yr friend....coz i read some ppl say cant work on lollipop but u can.....pls help
*
Sorry absolutely no idea why you cannot get it to work
Just installed app and just launch it - no special tricks required !! When you first launch it, supersu app will prompt you
It works perfectly well too on my S6 Edge ( lollipop too) and XZU ( lollipop custom rom )
May I know who say it cannot work on lollipop ??

BTW you got nextapp SDFIX working and Titanium Backup resolved ??

I did the same as yr method but still the wakelock won't work....dono y.....I even install n uninstall but still same....found on xda that lollipop issue wif wakelock

And thks for the sdfix....it works now...
*
Don't know why some users cannot get it to work
As you can see from the posted screenshots is working fine on Note4
Is working very well on my S6 edge n XZU
My only conclusion is probably due to unofficial app interference ? Try uninstall those if you had installed any??

Habisla. Then seems like n4 is my last samseng if they opt for iphone-like variants.

I really like the sc card. Easy to backup stuff. Yes i know got apps for that but i old school. Prefer sd card.
*
I used a Sandisk micro USB thumb drive ( 64gb) to backup my nandroid n Titanium backup in my S6 Edge. Is a very small device n convenient.
