For me note 5 must:

1.Ext sd card
2.Removeable batt
3.Bigger battery. 4k mah.
4.Better camera. Make it idiot proof like iphone's camera
5.Decent price. Dont give that crap s6 edge price. Seriously.. samseng phones around 2.4-2.5k considered premium already.. anything more is an iphone.
*
except 4, I hate the iphone camera at all
no setting to adjust doh.gif

Note 5.... very most likely to have sealed battery since theyre going that path now..

will only consider getting it if only

1. screen size no lesser than 5.8 inch

2. battery 4k mah and above

3. Home button removed and replaced with onscreen button.  (yeah sorry, not fond of the button clicky sound and the finger print scanner annoys me. Just imagine how my thumb could possibly be chopped off already give me a scare.)

4. no Edge thank you.

5. in bronze gold option as well or dark purple would be awesome  drool.gif
*
I prefer home button laugh.gif
else if on screen button screen size will smaller due to fit the button
yet please make the blue colour that on s6 on note 5 drool.gif

After rooting my Note 4, I messed around installing some 3rd party apps into system and also moving some system apps. Somehow, it soft bricked my phone and I was stucked at bootup at Samsung logo. It didn't respond to wiping cache and all data using Vol up, Home and Power keys.

Sent my rooted phone to Samsung SC and in half an hour got back a smoother and more battery saving phone installed with Lollipop 5.0.1 free of charge without any questions asked. I think they were too busy to check the knox counter or bother about the knox counter. Since knox already tripped, I re-root my phone as soon as I got back home.

I rooted my phone because mainly I wanted to install Greenify, Titanium Backup and Cerberus into the system rom. I usually switch my GPS to off and in case I lose or misplace my phone I want Cerberus to switch my phone's GPS to on, remotely, to find my phone. Already tested this GPS functions off/on correctly on my rooted phone. With Greenify my phone runs cooler and battery life extends to slightly more than a day with minimal normal usage.

I was pleased that the phone runs better this time around when clean/rooted and with the things I want.
*
wow can I know which SC you go ?

I want to root just for adaway, titanium backup and greenify biggrin.gif

time to root now, almost 6 months only root my note 4 laugh.gif

Hello. My dad just brought N4, AP set - SM-N910CZDEXSG, which is originated from UAE. He want to use Bahasa Melayu as its language and unfortunately it is not there.

Can I safely flash http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/downloa...0COLB1BOC1_XME/ and get the BM language? (as they are for N910C)

Or do I need to change the CSC fro XSG to XME then flash the above firmware?

Kindly advise.
*
double check model number is it N910C, if yes go ahead and flash

why I go sammobile website didn't saw the latest firmware can download ??

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 25 2015, 11:48 PM)
For those rooted phones, you will not be able to update firmware OTA
There are several ways to overcome this

If ONLY rooted without any custom recovery ( CWM or TWRP) installed

- USE app supersu PRO to unroot. Launch app and at its settings, untick enable supersuser . Scroll down and tap Fully unroot. Restart phone

If rooted and with Custom recovery installed

Extract fully down the stock firmware tar file till you see recovery.img. There will be other several img files too. Use app FLASHIFY to flash this stock recovery.img file. Restart phone and you will get stock recovery installed. Unroot phone as described earlier on
Or you can use Odin in PC to just flash this recovery.img file ( compress it back to tar format) . You need to compress the img file back to tar format first. I always prefer use app flashify without need to use PC

If you had any CUSTOM  rom installed, best is to use Odin in PC to flash the stock firmware in tar format. This will auto unroot and restore stock recovery and stock rom to your phone. However this will possibly erase all your phone's data. I cannot really remember whether this will happen but it won't erase any data if your rom is official rom. Downgrading your firmware will erase data. Upgrading or flashing similar version will not
*
I am the one who root with twrp (custom) recovery installed
for me the easiest step is flash using pc in odin > root > twrp laugh.gif

I tried to OTA new firmware by unrooting my N4 using SuperSU Pro but was unable to OTA.

My N4 was unrooted successfully (checked with titanium) but the Settings/About phone/Status /device status still show "custom" in spite of the unroot. My previous root was without custom recovery. I read somewhere the device status can't change from custom to official may be due to the knox being tripped.

Anyone here unroot using SuperSU Pro but can OTA new firmware?
*
Just wait for Malaysia BOE1 ROM then download from sammobile website and flash it then root
That what I going to do so, lazy to backup > factory reset > downgrade back to Malaysia BOC3 > check OTA =.=

QUOTE(arrowhead7372 @ May 26 2015, 05:15 PM)
LOL. also s pen i got use, but seldom.

i was never a fan of S series, except the s6e. my mother in law has it and i always lock/unlock it when i see it. the feel of it is so... nice...

later i change, then comes note 5... jeng jeng jeng.. spend money again laugh.gif

decisions decisions. i guess 1 thing u notice, there are alot s6e sellers in garage sales, so it may mean something.. =Pp
*
I was a fan of A series, but S series seems not much difference between each version, example s3 > s4 > s5
Finally s6 change a lot but I already got note 4, so sit back ignore and wait for note 5 whistling.gif

As always, tq again Uncle benny for your tips and explanations. Much appreciated. Helped me solve infinite loop loading. and get my rooted phone to OTA.

can I know how you do it ?

QUOTE(sharp56 @ May 27 2015, 03:21 PM)
Flashing with Malaysia BOE1 Rom is the quickest way to unroot N4 back to OTA, right? I was unable to OTA with SuperSU Pro unroot method.

Is the BOE1 out yet and where to download?

And thanks to benny888, too, for all the useful information on N4
*
ya but right now Malaysia release Malaysia BOE1 ROM
if I really want to update to BOE1 Malaysia ROM, I need backup > flash BOC3 Malaysia ROM > factory reset > OTA > root > restore rclxub.gif

factory reset necessary meh? I'm on B05 UAE rooted without custom rom. Thought of unrooting using the supersu method as mentioned by Mr. Benny but looks like that won't work properly. Gotta flash via odin then
*
seems so since BOC5 is higher changelist compare to BOC3 in order to OTA to BOE1

yup I just test it, working fine
not like previously got a lot space rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 28 2015, 08:54 AM)
According to my friend, Waze is working fine on firmware B0E1
He needed to delete cache and data at  phone settings/application manager/waze and start all over again. He had restored the app and its data from his Titanium Backup

Some more feedbacks from him on xposed mod: working well too on BOE1
-  intelli3G is working very well with xposed mod too. Wannam xposed app only certain features working. He had joined Google+ group for power nap app and said seems quite good too. You can only download the app from the group provided link as still in developmental stage. The link goes to playstore but I was unable to find it independently.  This app performs similarly to the famed Stamina mode of Xperia series.

As always said by me, Sony stamina mode is unsurpassed and is best built in power savings mode amongst all the phones I had used. Other phone power savings mode is way behind it. When I was using it ( without root) on standby up to 7-8 hours with 3G/LTE on, battery drain hardly goes beyond 1%
*
is it download and flash the stuff from below link ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/uno...llipop-t3113463

but stated only deodex, but I only root + flash twrp recovery which supposed only odex
