But that wan is specialist for alarm. It is all about alarm

While Xiaomi like 1/2 alarm only. Macam missing many alarm function.

For such price, iSmartAlarm may be a better choice.

Has anyone tried using 3rd party hardware with Xiaomi mirja smarr home system eg. External siren or vibration sensors.?
*
I did it for external siren and flash light.
Basically, the concept is to connect the external siren and flash light to Xiamo WiFi socket.
Just add automation to turn on the socket in alarm state.
Basically, all outputs may be done in this way.

No idea how to integrate vibration sensor (input) yet.
After Googling, there may be a Aqara version of vibration sensor soon.

QUOTE(henryj8 @ May 28 2018, 08:42 AM)
Xiaomi SmartHome still not support 3rd party sensors like vibration and External Siren. However, you can modify the sensors for vibration or external siren purposes.

As per previous post, xiaomi smarthome is not design for the alarm monitoring function, so it is not convenient to use it as a alarm panel.
*
Yes, Xiaomi is not intended to be used as Alarm purpose.
However, after some minor tweaks, it works the same or better than many more expensive Alarm Systems.
At least, it can still be used as basic alarm system for mainstream without breaking the house or bank.

The only disadvantage is Xiaomi's push notification is not reliable...

MiHome app have one button to arm all the magnetic and motion sensors?
*
That is the button for Xiaomi Gateway.
The label is like "Alert disabled. Tap to enable it"

For me, I configure a wireless button to trigger this.
Hence, it's merely a tap on the physical button near my front door to arm the alarm.

i believe the frequency need to re-tune.

most importantly not enuf remote control.
and all family member hv phone... tat solve it
*
I'm using app to control my autogate too.
It's useful especially when we are not at home and the postman is about to delivery bigger parcel.
I can open the gate and let him to drop in while monitoring with camera.
Similar to Amazon key concept.

FYI, I'm using Broadlink RM pro to control it via RF.
No modification of autogate control system is needed.

I wonder why need to tinker inside that control box when you can just replace the wall gate switch with remote one  hmm.gif
*
Autogate button in the house is normally operated with "pulse" signal (like door bell).
Not sure if any reputable branded WiFi switch has provided this or not.
Similar to the modification of Autogate control board, a "pulse" signal is needed...

Just found one made in Malaysia but I think this is not cheap like Chine one  laugh.gif

http://www.senzo.com.my/Smart-Switch-with-...entory-1-ON-OFF

The design  hmm.gif

If you don't mind China one:

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/SESO....748615dfvTQXp0

Not sure if your gate way compatible with this one though

Edit again. I found branded one

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Aqar....748615dfvTQXp0
*
Senzo one will work.
Another link: https://www.lazada.com.my/products/senzo-x-...2OgzWM&search=1

However, I'll prefer to opt for a solution from reputable brand which can be integrated as one smart home solution.
Just don't prefer many apps controlling different things in my phone.
For my criteria, smart devices should be within certain ecosystem (IFTTT, Mi Home, SmartThings, etc)

Your links about the Aqara and Sesoos switch may not work because they are "momentary" switch for buttons but may not emit momentary signal.
I'm not 100% sure as I don't own them but that's what I understand from their applications.

Hi Guys,

Early this week, I had installed the long awaited smart lock for my house front door.
This is a good stuff... so it's worth sharing to you.

The model is U-tec Ultraloq UL1.
I got it from Indiegogo by backing the project.
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ultraloq...th-smart-lock#/

From my long research, it's the only digital lock in the market that fulfills my criteria below:
1. Door access with fingerprint, card and remote app access.
2. Compatible with IFTTT and Alexa (optional).
3. Compatible with most Malaysia door lock hole (important).
4. Competitive price.

Item #3 is very important for me.
I had installed the lock within an hour without the help from locksmith.. no modification on the wooden needed == no additional cost.

Of course, I also did some research on other digital locks from Gateman/Yale, Samsung, Xiaomi, Schlage, August and etc but none of them can fulfill my criteria.
The only downside for this Ultraloq is the company, U-tec is relatively new startup.
Good thing is... the lock works nicely on my door now. biggrin.gif

Nice! Any photos of your installed lock?
How to know what’s compatible with our existing doors?
*
No picture is taken yet.
If your existing lock is cylindrical or normal gripset types, then it'll be compatible.
Not compatible with mortise type.

Simple to check... just look at the door latch if it is the short or long type.
Short type should be compatible.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Jun 6 2018, 12:29 PM)
how does it integrated with ur smarthome? ifttt?
*
The expected integration will be IFTTT and Alexa.
Actually, I have yet to explore into this yet because the feature will only be released in near future.
For me, I have a door sensor installed which is good enough to notify if a door is open/close.
Unless I want to perform different actions on different users upon door open/close, then I'll need to use the lock feature.

What is the manual unlock for emergency ?
*
For deadbolt, there is a physical key to unlock manually from outside.
For the lever lock, no manual unlock.

For me, this is still fine because I still can access my house via my sliding door beside.

how does other device with ifttt/alexa security works?
rather than depend on wifi wpa2 for security...
*
Most (if not all) IoT or smart devices depend on WiFi.
In my setup, I have a UPS connecting to my modem, router and IoT gateway (SmartThings / Mi Gateway).
The sensors are batter powered.
So, I don't worry if someone disconnects my electricity to bypass my security system.
In this case, I'll get the push notification and the siren will trigger.

IFTTT (if this then that) is merely a service to integrate smart devices from different vendors.
For example: if "U-tec lock is open", then "start video capturing from Samsung camera"

Alexa is like Google Assistant.
I'm planning to use echo speaker to lock/unlock the door especially for my kids.

Wow.. it sound 'special' with a lock without physical key to unlock. How if running out of battery?
*
This lock allows to change battery from outside.

Other digital locks in the market allows putting 9v battery as emergency power from outside.

anyway, the lock will inform when it's running low on battery.
Usually, the battery low state may last for 2 weeks.

hi all.. just wondering.. once you have integrated xiaomi gateway and their switches into Home Assistant, can you still control your xiaomi switch through Mi App ?
*
QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Nov 19 2018, 10:50 AM)
Sure can. The app give LAN (local network) access to the Home Assistant with the API key.
*
Can, but it's not really fully functional like in Mi Home app.
For example: no support for Xiaomi Gateway "Enable/Disable Alert" mode.

Also, no relation to Mi Home configuration.
For example:
- In MiHome, I setup the switch single press to toggle the gateway light.
- In HA, we cannot set single press button to follow the behavior in Mi Home. Meaning, it will be in different action.

Sure there is no enable / disable Alert from HA but you can set by using automation in HA. Refer link below
https://community.home-assistant.io/t/any-o...i-gateway/30152

There are automation examples to switch gateway light and even adjust its brightness. Refer below
https://www.home-assistant.io/components/bi...r.xiaomi_aqara/
*
Actually, I had read these links long time ago.
These were not what I anticipated.
The HA automation is a separate instance work independently with Xiaomi Gateway Alert.

In my eyes, it is duplicated.
So, I concluded that why make our life so difficult to move everything into HA when Mi Home can do it?

There are still lots of things not doable in HA for Xiaomi ecosystem. At least not the easy way.
For example,
- paring a xiaomi air purifier requires many steps to retrieve the access token.
- getting camera videos work for some models with custom firmware only. Also, with lots of configuration steps.

So, I decided HA is merely a supplementary system to link with other ecosystems instead of replacing existing vendor's apps.

Er, nobody asking those using only Xiaomi switch to turn on Xiaomi gateway to use HA. huh.gif
If you use only Xiaomi devices, of course it is better to just use the Mi app.
At least HA can duplicate some actions if want to integrate with other brand devices.
If Xiaomi can use with Sonoff, Alexa and Google Home, I'm sure nobody want to add HA into their home.
*
Don't really understand first part of your statements.
However I agreed on HA is merely the bridge for cross brands ecosystem.

Hi, do you use HA or do you just read and research about it?
Because your examples given are about controlling Xiaomi device based on Xiaomi device state.
*
I'm using HA for the last 1-2 years. :-)
Earlier examples are just examples to show HA does not work seamlessly with Xiaomi products.

My setup is versatile covering NAS, cameras, door lock, multiple device trackers, xiaomi, firebase, ifttt, sonoff, etc..
No voice assistance yet.. and no plan to do it soon until the AI is good enough.

biggrin.gif Oh, fellow HA enthusiast.
Just curious that why u say that HA can't do "In MiHome, I setup the switch single press to toggle the gateway light " and others
Care to elaborate?
*
you can do this.
what I meant was the setup in Mi Home and HA are two different instances.
Meaning, the switch in Mi Home is physical wireless switch.
We can see that in HA but cannot trigger it... it's read only.
When we setup a HA switch, that will become a separate instance which has no relation to xiaomi wireless switch.

of course, this was a bad example because HA has a default switch to trigger gateway light. No explicit setup is needed.

Hi to thode who sre running ur automation in Home Assitant using raspberry pi..since you need to run it 24/7,any reliabiity issue so far ? I heard that the weakest part here is the sd card.... Any real tme experienve on this so far ?
*
Mine is running 24/7 for over 1-2 year, the system is reliable.

However, one SD card (SanDisk Ultra 32GB) had failed after I tried to restart HA.
Hence, please make sure you have a regular backup of your configuration files.
