Don’t place too much importance in these voice assistants. To me they are more of a novelty than anything else. They don’t always work well. I have to shout at it most of the damn time lol. 😅

You intend to arm and disarm your alarm using voice?

No, it's not. That's one thing one has to be aware of if using Aqara switches.

Anyone know if aqara switch can be use to replace autogate switch? I bought few aqara switch to change my current lighting switch. And my technician told me it is not suitable to replace autogate switch. Also, he said aqara switch not suitable for those switch that have 2 way open like the staircase light which ground floor and first floor can both control the light open.

Is that true? I wanna change my autogate switch so that I can wireless control the open and off for my autogate.

unless you want to use Home Kit, dont get the Aqara Hub. Buy the Mijia Hub.....
Single button controls one set of lights
Two button - two sets of lights

Thanks for the advise.

Mijia Hub can support iOS devices?

Can i use the switch to turn on/off any electronic devices besides lights? E.g. water pump

Can. Im using iOS.
The difference is that Mijia hub can add everything under the Xiaomi umbrella
Aqara hub can only connect to Aqara stuff and not everything can work in Home Kit
and to further complicate things, there are two types of Aqara hub out there that does different things

Switches are for lights only. Some here successfully connect to ceiling fan as well but I dont see why they wanna do that.

Hi,

Im looking to add home automation into my new apartment. But I can't seem to find much online to understand the major differences or benefits between Broadlink or Sonoff Wall switches.

My plans are to use Google Home and get an electrician to add neutral wires, since I am hearing the ones with neutral wires are relatively safer/stable and works well with ceiling fans.

Anyone here can help provide me their personal review, or have a better brand?

Broadlink switch need the RM Pro to connect thru Wifi
Another extra cost.
Sonoff connect thru wifi to cloud. No need extra equipment
Since u are adding neutral, go for Sonoff

My ceiling fans are remote controlled, will Sonoff have any issues with this? Are there any latency lag when switching lights/fans on and off as this connects through a cloud?

The RM Pro has an IR blaster, so I was wondering if anyone has tried using this to control their Fans/Airconds without issues.

You are changing to Sonoff Wall switch, right?
Fan got remote or not doesn't matter
Anything connected to cloud sure got lag if compare to local control. But it is acceptable lag.
Better buy RM mini for IR control, much cheaper

I'm using the Aqara Hub and Homekit and tons of wall switches and sensors. Single/dual = 1 or 2-gang. Works pretty well. Easy to setup. Just have to be careful not to get electrocuted.

There's a Mi Home app for IOS and they recently added Siri Shortcuts so you can even control it with your voice without using Homekit. I prefer Homekit cause I'm lazy to setup all the shortcuts. Anything that can be turned on and off can be controlled subject to power limitations. For example, my living room ceiling fan is controlled using a wall switch and a stand fan using a plug.

And if you feel like it, you can add Homekit support using 3rd party software such as Home Assistant, Homebridge, IOBroker, etc...

Do you where I can read more about the 2 different Aqara hubs? Or if you know what their differences are.
