You can get xiaomi smart home kit, including smart plug, temp & humidity sensor, motion sensor, windows/doors sensor, smart button, hub at very low price.

These xiaomi devices are zigbee devices, some even can integrate to smartthings, I'm getting the humidity sensor to monitor my drybox is working properly or not

This look good to me.
All devices are control via wifi from the hub, right?

It's better to buy better brand because you still need their cloud service. If their cloud is always down, your thing won't work

*
If only internet connection then still ok. I have been rely on internet for many other things, so far ok la.
What i worry more is the hardware or software immature nature kind of thing.

it should be a tint. the cable is hidden. so theoretically this should be cheaper then replacing a whole glass.

there are two types la
one is a film like tint film. end users can install this on their own
the other one must be sandwich between two pieces of glass like laminated glass
this one must be done at their factory

anyway, this thing is good for privacy but it doesnt totally black out the Sun. It will be like frosted glass, and our strong sunlight can still get through.
I feel its not really suitable for our climate unless you dont get any direct sunlight
*
The link provided by you says is float glass. Which can be self install?
Sandwhich tint film should be the one pointed out by Kiding, right?

Received the sonoff unit last week. Weekend got some time. So change the old timer to sonoff for the car posh lighting.

So far so good. Try on/off from far away and around the house. No problem. And now put on timer for everyday on/off.

The unit will be throw ontop the ceiling. It will be subject to hot temperature, humid and dust. See how tough can it stand.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

* Today will do some testing. This morning OFF the main. So the sonoff no power. Later late evening, will OFF the network, ON back the main power to sonoff after the timer ON schedule. See it can function without the network and test it memory location.
*
This sonoff can replace the conventional timer?

Is it easy to DIY replace it with the traditional timer which is located at my DB now?

If you want to locate at your DB, forget it. The size and shape doesn't DB friendly.

If you want to place hide it away near your device, should be ok.

DIY replacing is easy. Cut the wire between and joint this unit in. The rest is hook up with your HP with few instruction.

You can check back here. idoblu got picture how to join.

Or search in youtube. Plenty of instruction.
*
Aiseh, so bulky huh.
But my DB is not that pack if i remember correctly. Will have a look on it.
BTW, this Sonoff can only purchase online from overseas now?

It is not bulky. The size is about same as hager timer or smaller.

But the shape and the design is not suit to the DB. Hence, not DB friendly. Hager timer is design suit according to DB.

You still can put into the DB. But it doesn't look nice and be prepare to take out some space.

So far no local sell this. Just get it online. It take 2weeks to arrive. Not difficult and cheaper too.
*
DB never look nice ba biggrin.gif . Anyhow, it is covered, so aesthetic shouldn't be an issue to me.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Mar 15 2017, 11:12 AM)
Some sellers selling them at lelong
Cheapest is probably in taobao shop.
*
Thanks for the info.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Mar 15 2017, 11:18 AM)
I think its not suitable for DB. One thing the DB wires are too thick to enter the Sonoff terminal block which to me is the most "weakest" in the whole device
*
Ow....this might be a problem then.

actually what are you trying to do?
from DB it can go to certain lights and maybe even some power plugs. You cannot really control exactly what you want unless so ngam your house DB control those things that you wanted
*
Currently there is already a conventional timer in my DB to control my car porch light.
I am thinking to change it to Sonoff to have more control on the light.

currently i am using hagar EH011 for my DB.

Ya, I have timer in my DB now.
I am thinking to replace it with Sonoff. But some users here say the Sonoff it can not fit in DB.
