automation is instant, cause its local using zigbee eg wireless switch > hub > light switches
it doesnt need to go thru the cloud server or anything.

List of smart home features must have...

1) Smart switches - I want to use smart switches to control my eyeball lights..cant afford individual smart bulb (Aqara vs Sonoff vs Tuya smart switches) which wan the most reliable and cost effective? I want to use google home as well for voice command to switch on/off lights...

I read aqara smart switches can connect through aqara hub which can prevent router from too congested..not sure about sonoff and tuya smart switches? and malaysia switches is without neutral correct?

2) Control aircond, able to have the ability to switch on the aircond 5 minutes before reach home

3) Smart curtain - this is for future project - no budget now

4) I am using apple iphone...not sure which application the easiest for apple iOS

5) any other smart home features i am missing?

I just realized most of my switches next to the 20A aircond switch. So meaning i can pull the neutral from the AC switch right? But if i wan to install 2x 3gang aqara D1 switch. Both can use back the neutral wire from the ac switch?

One thing to take note, if you use iPad as homekit hub, iPad must be 24 x 7 always powered by charger, or the automation will not work.

Even though Broadlink support RF it cannot control all RF remote based fan. My rubine ceiling fan cannot detect at all.

I'm planning to try out smart switch for the bedroom which will control the lights and ceiling fan, but the more I search Shopee and the forum, the more confused I become. As I understood all Aqara switch needs a zigbee gateway/hub. Which hub/gateway is recommended? My house is a double storey 22x75 and that hub will be placed on the ground floor middle of the house. Will that be good enough for the wireless transmission to all rooms upstairs?

Also I checked my switch plate, and below is the photos. I guessed there is no neutral wire. Some switches I saw on Shopee that for no neutral wire requires a capacitor to be install. Does this apply to Aqara no neutral switch? As my house have a 15A socket for the aircond, I'm doing reno and asking the contractor to change that and make it a hidden wiring for the air cond. So they will add a 20A switch besides the lighting switch. Can I just use the neutral wire from the air cond 20A switch. My house is on 3 phase power. I went thru some video tutorial on 3 phase electrical and it seems 3 phases system have 2 types of connection method which is delta and star. If not mistaken Malaysia should be star right which have 4 wire including neutral? If that case, my question will be can I just tap the neutral wire from the aircond switch irregardless of the phase of the aircond and the light/fan switch?

I don't need any voice control, just needed a smart switch where each person can on/off their room lighting/fan themselves wirelessly. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

i just bought mi smart hub v3 and switch all sensors to malaysia server. abit disappointed its not support aqara vibration sensor and mi smart plug.
and the hub doesn't have alarm siren, no door bell, can't set warning tone when someone open the door.
anyone using mi hub v2 or aqara hub v2 (m'sia server)? can it set short warning sound when the door open.?
