QUOTE(hifzil @ Apr 17 2015, 09:52 AM) hmmm hajad this season i don't see any special from him. see him dribble lay down get free kick or penalty. maybe im not watching chelsea game much I think it is very important to win penalty and free kick. That's 1 of the strength we had when we had Suarez ma, and the chances to score from freekick when we had him was so high. Oh well, glad to see him doing well. |

Looks like someone is getting personal again. So addictive ah?
Anyway, looks like BR's time in LFC will be decided in these last few games. It really looks like we are going to go through another transition period. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 21 2015, 01:53 PM) On the wages part, that's 1 thing FSG and BR is good at isn't it? If you don't perform, you don't get paid. Of course then his selling price becomes lower as he runs down his contract. Unlike doubling a pay when someone threatens to leave with the reason the team has no top player. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 21 2015, 03:13 PM) I don't know, but if Lovren and Toure are at 70K, it gives you a clue how well they manage the wages issue... I can explain for Toure which has something to do with the Bosman Ruling. Whereby free transfer are given higher wages. Same like how we signed Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic and Voronin.As for Lovren, though his performance has been poor with us this season, but he was vital and I would say successful for Southampton last year. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 21 2015, 04:26 PM) Toure was about 33 when signed last year. You clearly don't even bother to find out what Bosman ruling is. No point discussing a matter with you.Not mid 20 or late 20s. You don't pay high wages for a player that going into retirement age. For Lovren, it just suggests judgement on player was poor by the manager or the transfer committee, one season wonder, you pay 20 mil + 70K wages? If one season wonder CB can be rated 20 mil + 70K wages, then striker like Ing, Austin may as well 30 mil rated with more than 100k? |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 21 2015, 05:33 PM) Bosman ruling is attractive for club to pay high wages to player as they don't need to pay transfer fee. Like you said, he is a back up of a back up. He was behind Carra (last year), Skrtel, Agger, and Sakho. Hence, we signed a player who can still play around 3 years. Once the player signed the 5 years contract, the player has a valuation that club can recoup from, hence it justify for club to pay high wages. Save from transfer fee + potential player valuation = high wages for player. But this situation is not the same for player reaching retirement age, especially the player seems as stop gap or backup player only. Somemore at that kind of age, transfer fee also minimal only if the player is not under Bosman. Which will cost 36months x 70k = 2.5M. Assuming no bonus etc etc. Share with me a player we can sign for 1M, and 40k wages and willing to the 5th CB. Thanks. |

[quote=cherroy,Apr 21 2015, 05:51 PM]
Then the question will be why spent 2.5M on a 5th CB. To improve 'depth" of the team until need 5th CB? Every mil count. [/quote Sorry my calculation was wrong It should be 156 weeks x 70k - 11M. That would mean we can sign a 5M odd CB and pay 40k. hehehe. Anyway since you diverted another subtopic to discuss. We practically had 3 CB with Agger injured almost the entire season? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 21 2015, 05:55 PM) how bout coates? when he returns to LFC end of this season, he'll effectively be either our 4th or 5th CB, depending how highly u rate kolo...and coates wages is 50k. Alamak, every player also kena justify now. Totally forgot bout this dude.oh, and coates transfer fee was 7m Whatever happened to Coates, it is a mystery, could not even get into Sunderland's first team. Probably back to Uruguay after this. QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 21 2015, 06:02 PM) think coates has 1 more yr left on his contract. He'll probably be the next bosman!so probably LFC will try to milk out another 1-2m with another loan deal somewhere before offloading him for free. but with kolo and skrtel set to supposedly leave, chances of coates staying is there...zzz. |

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Apr 22 2015, 12:39 PM) I know you are going to bring him up lol. Haha, of course he was hyped and everyone was excited when BR was appointed. Even BR has dropped him earlier this season.Dun get me wrong, Allen is a nice bloke and all that..the reason I like to pick on him is due to the fact that fans keep on overhyping him as the next big thing in Liverpool, despite being proven wrong repeatedly. And me just being myself...I like to challenge their adulation on Xavi n listen to theur side of story. Like I said he is a squad player at best, nowhere near the hype he is billed at. Anyhow, let's see how BR close this season and will FSG keep him. If they do, guess you will be frustrated and angry for another season huh? |

QUOTE(maranello55 @ Apr 23 2015, 05:27 PM) We can sing YNWA all we want now...but it was good players n footie dat won us istanbul. Do you think if the fans left at half time, we will even score the first goal?the things i say abt the club is bcoz i care. For the good of the club After Gerrard headed in the first goal, what did he do after giving a high five to Riise for the cross? That was how important singing and cheering is. You can't take the credit away from the fans who travelled to Istanbul. |

He may not be the player he once was, but not many of us can remember or even know a Liverpool without him. 3 more games.

Hi all fellow friends and LFC supporters. My fiancee and I was at the game at Anfield vs. Man Utd and would like to share my experience there with you guys.
We landed in Edinburgh almost a week before taking a 4 hours drive to Liverpool. Upon reaching Liverpool, the feeling of excitement has already filled up in me as the road signs in the highway points out how close Manchester is to Liverpool. Like as though when you drive along Federal Highway all you see is Klang and Shah Alam. Over there, all you see is Liverpool and Manchester, and occasionally Southampton, Swansea, or other towns which looks familiar because you know the football club. Arriving a day before the game at Holiday Inn, we decided to take a tour down Liverpool City. It is no doubt a more laid back city with no buzz or tourists like how London is. Though there are not as many tourist, there are many Asian and East Europeans (I assume students) there. Somehow, I remain vigilante as there are quite a number of people both man and woman who were quite rowdy and loud and tipsy before 10pm. 3 degrees celcius at night with strong wind is no familiar territory as well. We decided to get some chinese food and head back to call it a night. We left the hotel before 8am for the stadium tour. Too excited and also afraid of parking issues. It was a pleasant 15 minutes drive from the hotel to the stadium, passing by Goodison Park as well. There was barely any traffic at that hour on a Sunday. Plenty of free parking spots around, just 50 metres from the KOP. Walking towards the stadium, a junction just right outside the KOP, there were a few police officers and a van, cleaning up rubbles, and were picking evidence off the ground. There were blood everywhere. I thought, there must've been a fight last night. I learned that it was a car accident. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverp...sh-just-8896317 Stadium tour was very informative, fun, but a little rush. My advice is to do a stadium tour when it is not a match day. View from the Kop. Going round the museum is free and no time limit. It's a must see. There were plenty of videos, memorabilias like jerseys, and boots of legends and of course trophies. The main highlight - The 5th European Cup from Istanbul. Take a closer look and you will find the lip marks of the players who kissed it and fingerprints of players who lifted it are still visible! Waited for 2 more hours, got some chinese food just right outside the stadium for 5pounds (enough for 2). It was time to go in. Atmosphere was building and people start to fill the stadium. Anfield Road however, were filled with people like ourselves, 1-timers and tourists. Players' name are announced and cheered. Jeers were given to the opposing team. The song started playing. Everyone got up, scarves were waved and stretched across. It was loud, yes, hair at the back of my neck were standing, even as I'm typing this. I can't sing to save my life, Ang moh guy next to me can't sing too, but we sang our hearts out. Sing your heart out, even if you can't sing to save your own life. https://www.facebook.com/ken.lim.wee.kian/v...867118772879175 The Kop never stopped singing the entire match. However, sitting at the Anfield Road, closer to the travelling fans, it can be quite annoying. I have to give it to them too, they never stopped singing. Each time the ball approaches both goals, everyone stands up to have a better view, you can hear the flip chairs all go up. Sounds like Joey Jordison on his double pedal. The atmosphere got more intense as the game was coming to an end. The announcer on the mic at least 5 times reminding away fans to stay where they are after the match and will be escorted to their transport back. Would've expected what is going to happen if both sides get out of the stadium at the same time. We got out sour, beaten, and sad of course. Captain got sent off in a mere 40 seconds and it was the 1st game beaten after the 12 games run, and we never looked good after that. Nonetheless, it is an experience that will never be forgotten. Definitely not my last time there. |
