like last night showing, this Allegri Juve looks to be comfortable in playing sitting back and counter-attack

Monaco needed a goal so they will be attacking, but due to their defensive nature they might sit back instead and
tried to hit Juve on the counter

and last night i'd noticed  both Bonucci & Chiellini got their head "elsewhere" in the game. Giving a cheap ball away esp in dangerous area
I hope both of em wouldn't repeat that in UCL, and against team like Bayern or Barca that would be suicidal
*
both of them tend to venture up too much. lucky for bonny he got a goal smile.gif

Boring game, but considering the plan was to protect the 1 goal lead and hopefully Morata/tevez conjure some magic. That does not happen so it's tad boring. But hey we are in Semi's

Juventus, Napoli, Fiorentina all made it to the semi-final stage of their respective compeetition

it feels like early 2000's all over again notworthy.gif
*
Fiorentina really have some chance for europa, if Salah played well and they used good tactics. just don't repeat semi final TIM smile.gif
Napoli sort off having on-off button, but looks quite brightly towards end of season.

the legacy juventus (alex & co) might win against RM any time, because their fighting spirit was outstanding. we really need the old guards buffon/chiello/pirlo to inject the fighting spirit. real might boast some of the best players but juve always fight back. even the recent once, if not for stupid red or back pass, we might had won.

too bad player tracking was slcking for the CR goal. but RM created plenty of chances, really Juve riding on luck for this win.

if LLorente took his chance, then different game already next week. defending a goal is really dangerous especially RM has away goal. but we do have good record, except recent ones in Santiago Barnabue. hopefully we don't do any silly mistakes there, and perhaps someone rose and get standing ovation again smile.gif

The old Lolo would have buried that header. Thats a sign of a striker lacking confidence, to not score a free header is a shame.

Are you in the JFCM group chat as well ?

Difficult as Real has an away goal and a 2 goal victory at Bernabeau is within reach. I think will be all Spanish finals
*
anything can happen. pirlo can go in SB and do a 2003 del Piero and get standing ovation. now Pogba is back, we have complete 4 very strong midfielders. Vidal is hitting back form, so as Marchisio. Only worry is Pirlo losing possession occassionally, perhaps he is the weak defensive link in midfield. Ancellotti feared Juve midfields, hence putting Ramos as a midfielder, and he failed miserably. Bale is not as fit. So RM really lose creative spark in midfield.

so as Bayerrn, remember quarter final Porto lead BM 3-1 in 1st leg, they thumped porto 6-1 at home.

so it's still possible both 2 Spanish team is out in the semi

I think it's pretty obvious based on last match. Juve will be doing 4-1-3-2. Back four of Linch, Bonucci, Chillini, Evra, then Pirlo DM, and Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Tevez, Morata.

Juve should avoid mistakes like loosing possession while attacking, Pirlo is very prone on this. So I think the defence line will not be that high, considering our defenders are not that fast. If we have a goal or 2 lead, then most probably Allegri will switch to 3 CMs

In Euro 2012 Chiellini did not play in the final. So did Vidal, Pogba, Tvez etc etc. So it's dissimilar than Euro2012 smile.gif

Maurinho showed how a team can beat Barca. We could do the same. We can defend and hit on attack like we did in Dortmund.

also if i remember correctly we played with even fewer player, when motta sub in, he got injured like minutes later..

anyway instead of trying to relate this situation to euro2012, why not relate it to WC2006 where italy won the WC in Berlin, rclxm9.gif  anyway again obviously barca is the fav to win ucl, especially with their current form, however, anything is possible with football, we beat the defending champion and who knows what will happen in the final. i also hope that barca will secure the la liga title this weekend(if not strike happen) so that it will be a italian champ against spanish champ final. laugh.gif
*
yeah better comparison smile.gif

anyway current form contributes little for the finals. when juve took on dortmund in ucl 1997 final, juve was in a very good form and very confident in retaining the trophy.

barca still have the league to worry. hopefully juve can prepare enough in 2 weeks and just let the first 11 to maintain fitness throughout.

btw seems all are now still feeling the hype of going to the UCL finale, a reminder that Juve are playing ANOTHER finale on Wednesday next week

hopefully Allegri didn't follow Conte's philosophy by using a fringe team against Lazio. Its been all too long since the last time Juve had lifted that Coppa...and having another star, SILVER it is on our shirt next season would be nice

But one thing i'd wanted the most are definitely that "Champions Of Europe" badge on the sleeve biggrin.gif

Allegri smartly rested many players, so I'm confident we will go full force

ow btw guys, im not sure is it still a rumor or not but it was reported that we closed a deal for cavanni for 36m pound.

please no. we are rebuilding for the future. with that kind of money, it's better to get a good CM to replace pirlo & pogba.

pogba? he is leaving?
*
no, but we rally need to prepare for hot prospect like him. another one or two seria a titles and he will be looking for challenge elsewhere.

QUOTE(uzary @ May 17 2015, 11:27 AM)
Honestly i want cavanni to be in our squad, strengthen our attacking power, however, 36m pound/50m euro kinda too much to spend, not saying he isnt worth the price tag. What i concern most is if we really bought him with that price tag, he didnt perform n be like amauri instead. Even bale which i believe performing ok this season, but being bash for not performing as expected from his world record transfer fee. If cavani can be like ibra then i say 50m euro is a good investment.
*
i would prefer tevez to stay. now we lack players who could run into defenders like tevez. he still have another 2-3 years in his leg.

QUOTE(Jusstatic @ May 18 2015, 11:19 AM)
I highly doubt we have closed the deal for Cavani.

As for Dybala, I think we are very close now. I hope it will not fall through like our previous striker persuit of Aguero, RVP, Dzeko  sweat.gif

By the way, who here does not have access to Juve matches live? Does online stream works smoothly?  hmm.gif

usagoals.com smile.gif
many players are overrated now. I do hope he lived up to his price tag as well. now juve is marketable team, seems the management did not want to waste time and see players missed out to other suiters

The game really will be decided by midfielders, how they can track down and close the gaps. remmeber what salah did in the TIM cup, messi can do double that. so marchisio, vidal and pogba need to be very alert and close the gaps when defending. when the defending is tight, messi might draw back and start from midfield, so here our midfielders need to close him down. man marking might not work against him, but probably marchisio will be tasked to close him down.

I don't think we will park the bus. when there's possession, we will hold and attack, knowing barca don't have good defenders and can be slacking in defence.

tbh, I think it shud be a penalty for Juve in the build up to Barca's 2nd goal. Alves had his arm all around Pogba wrestling him. How the ref did not see that was absurb. Pogba a big lad just going to ground? This is not Suarez/Neymar we're talking bout. I dun recall Pogba having any diving incident before.

It was a hard fought defeat. But I think Juve can take pride in the defeat. If it wasn't for the early lapse of concentration that allow Rakitic to score. Damn.
*
Still feeling sore over the ref missing the penalty. The outcome might be different if the penalty was awarded.

Anyway Juve still exposed. Putting Pirlo was bad mistake. He can't function without the ball. A defensive Vidal + Marchisio and attacking Pogba / Perayra is better. When Juve got the ball, the forwards will just close Pirlo, and Juve had to opt for long balls, which seldom works.

Finishing was bad, but still ok since we did created many chances. Morata started to become good poacher, now we really need good no 10 and Pirlo backup. Tevez might play another year or two, maybe we have good alternative in Dybala, so expectations on him is very high.

Good backup defenders and midfielders also help. In 97 or 98 if we lost defender due to injury we can still lough it off. Seems not the case this time.

Juve should also look at German/French market. Marco Reus might be good target, or Gundongan. However, aside from recent Pogba signing, Juve is pretty much predictable in acquiring players.

During Moggi era, he loved to create smoke screen on players to be signed, let the media speculate more until the eventual unveiling.
