Whenever i click on a forum, thread or post, i get the logo and the ads on top right loaded, then it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to load the contents below the logo.....
this started since 17th october afternoon....
only IE6 is affected..... i tried safari and everything is fine...
other sites are working as usual...only lowyat.net forum has this problem...
is is only me or are the others having the same problem?

The slowdowns are caused by the advertising agency's servers being down. I've removed the ad for now.
se7en: you can revert it in Global HTML -> start_nav

it affects not only IE... firefox too. innity's ads server + googlesyndicate's server have jammed the entire forum page.
added: can u guys put an iframe to segregate the load from the external source.

we've got them looking into this. We'll we've got them looking into it since yesterday to be honest, and it appears that its a connection problem at their datacenter. We can't use an iframe due to the nature of the "expandable" ad. As i mentioned before, this is the last ad which remains, which would expire today. We'll not be displaying these type of ads on the site anymore.

Heh they must be getting a lot of flak from The Star too. I can barely load pages there without blocking innity.com.

they've moved the advertisment to another server. It should be fine now.
fortunately, thestar.com.my doesn't get 25,000 pageviews an hour.

well, it won't be necessary. it seems they've got datacenter problems, and they're trying to solve it. We've thrown in google ads to rotate, so things shoudn't be so bad.
My sincerest apologies on their behalf.

Sometimes i might lose connection to the server, getting that 404 error.
But I do agree, its very slow with those ads there. Why not host those ads at LYN?

are you sure its not your connection? our logs do not indicate anything out of the ordinary during peak hours.
Server load is displayed at the bottom right corner of the screen when you're logged in. The first value is the time the server took to generate the page, while the second is the server load. If the generation time is low (usually less then 1 second) and your page still takes a long time to load, then its probably a problem with your connection to the site rather then the site being slow.
