I was considering of buying a legit version of Minecraft. Right now, I'm just trying out the illegal copy to try the game,

and I think it was fun, but sadly there was only a few servers from Malaysia that I could play in, so I tried overseas

servers, I guess it was from US/Canada I am not really sure, it was really fun, the mods and stuff, although it was a

bit spiky. My question is, assume that I bought a legit version of Minecraft, and I still wanted to connect to overseas

server since there are only a few Malaysia servers, will it still lags by having a legit copy? Not to confuse you guys,

what I mean is only pirated copy of Minecraft will cause lag? Or legit version too? I know I'm asking a stupid question

Lag is caused by your connection speed to the US server is not fast enough, why you think buying a legit copy will reduce that ?

Legit and pirated version are the same. The only difference between this two is legit version uses online mode (authenticates your details with Minecraft.net) while pirated version uses offline mode (does not authenticate your details with Minecraft.net).

This online/offline mode is set by the server owner (up to the server owner to decide whether to allow only legit players or also pirated users).

The most important thing for this game is your connection speed and latency to the server. How I know this because I have my own public Minecraft server.
