can use WD-40 to reduce the disc brake rust?
*
putting lube fluid onto brakes (itself a friction item) is suicide.

I do own 2 City, '04 and '06, the 04 City changed gearbox, and replaced more stuff than my 06 City. To sell it now, seems like not worth it to let go, hence selling my 06 City instead. But, 04 City has better fitting and NVH insulation than 06 facelift version.

The new torque convertor type CVT used by Honda is proven technology, used in Nissan Xtronic CVT, Toyota eCVT. The older Honda clutch type CVT is no longer used. Only problem with torque convertor is loss of power, the latest City doesn't accelerate faster than older clutch CVT City.
*
i believe so long the cvt fluid change periodically and you not racing the car like playing around the shifters (if your car comes with it like inspira or preve or older idsi citys) cvt box should be lasting for quite some time. Yea i do personally skeptical on cvt box as my feeling on the wear and tear on the steel belt and pully would have been really intense (imagine the belt and pulley always grind on each other all the time compared to gears which take turns as the gears are shifting), of coz you won't see anything obvious before your car odo clocks 100k and above. hence my personal take is take auto box if you wanna drive the car for long long time and cvt if you are a gentle driver. it's just my 2 cents though.

Honda did say the CVT belt is lifetime guaranteed.  laugh.gif
So to them and the belt manufacturer, they can claim a new one, fit it in, refurbish the whole gearbox, and sell as new spare parts.

To us, we have to pay for the CVT gearbox replacement.
Compression ratio might be lowered for turbocharged Skyactiv-G. Else, the whole top will explode, or run on RON100+ fuel only.  laugh.gif
*
lifetime guaranteed is misleading, so far the definition of "lifetime" i knew is 10 yrs which defined by proton. They offer "lifetime" warranty on the 4 parts on power window (with T&C ofcoz). Their lifetime in this sense is lifetime of the car which is 10 yrs. not sure about Honda though. i remember proton CVT box tested up to 250k km without any issue (probably they just set it on a rig and let it run 60kph non stop without considering real life situation.... hehe....)

yea, agree, some tiny puny stuff but we got charged kao kao, and this is what we called business. rclxms.gif

SA will not have such info and probably clueless else can ask Jim.Tan share info. biggrin.gif

You can try pressure SC though. But they may not have the price list as well cuz still new and nobody replace anything yet. laugh.gif
*
i try to poke the SA on this matter as well, yep, like you said, they know nothing, since the brancj i visited is 3S, i also tell them to check with the SC portion, and the answer is like what you said... no answer....

i do found a page comparing the B segment hatch(Aussie site though but it serve as a good reference), if it's true, then Mazda 2 is a bit up scale in terms of maintenance.

When we made the choice, we believe that our decision is correct, and we believe this car suit our style and taste. We also know that it is costlier to maintain, but so does many nice cars in the market. I would say that the maintenance cost shall not be a major consideration when someone can afford and really like the car.

If he/she can't really afford, then better go for more common car.

agree... most people always miss out this item when buying a car, in the end they make a hoo haa out of it....

tebu/super charged cars I know la. Their N/A car also behave like that? hmm.gif

not about NA or turbo, is the collant temperature. if the coolant too hot it has to be cool down to a suitable temperature, i think is meant for protection. I heard proton cars will have such symptom as well (my friend drive his persona up hill and the fan still kick on after he switch off engine)

SC battery water price RM15 per bottle.

outside battery water price RM1-5 per bottle. Who in their right mind want to get SC to refill battery water? LOL laugh.gif
*
from RM1-5 become RM15, mazda SC must be putting some gold into the battery water! brows.gif

My SA keep telling me there will be no Raya promotion... eventhou I say I wan entitled "if" there is any.
*
hardly will be raya promo, as the car is selling like hot cake over here, and i do believe Bermaz didn't take in many stocks from Thailand as well.... (judging by the waiting time is not short due to lotsa documentation process once the car dock the port), it's kinda interest me if Bermaz wanna CKD this Mazda 2, though there won't be a huge price difference (since currently is thai made) but they will enjoy EEV incentive and probably the saving will be reflected in the car selling price, imagine a mazda 2 full spec selling for around 80K region all inclusive. Easily kill other B seg cars.

If and only if the Mazda2 sales overwhelms the thai production lines. And even then, don't expect a massive price drop like Mazda3 CKD, as cars imported from thai are already subjected to lower taxes due to AFTA (Mazda3 CBU was from Japan, which is not part of AFTA).

The old Mazda2 was never CKD-ed here.
*
agree.... unless mazda 2 sell like vios else Bermaz not even bother to make it CKD over here.... exactly like what you said, no cost saving for bermaz and buyer.

I think honda and toyota got volume , so can promo a bit. but mazda volume not enough, i don't think can get much discount.
*
Bermaz wanna make money... i personally don't think they really aiming for market share (this is bad for us because if they wanna fight for market share they gonna go into lotsa promos).

usually people buy mazda cars are passionate drivers. for those who lookig for RV & branding, T&H is the answer. For people who look for passion, Mazda is good. brows.gif

Rm310 too expensive

charging any amount for running number is ridiculous.
if booking number, is RM210++, if they charge you additional, then it is the runner fee (and perhaps your SA eat your portion as well)

yup, front is ok for me.
But not sure about you, you better test the car yourself

just curious why the rear seat is so important to you? hmm.gif
if you didn't use it as family car, then it should not be a problem
but if you are going to use it as your family car, this M2 is definitely not a good choice.
*
agree with you bro, mazda is more to a driver's car, they give the driver passion and joy of driving, but for passenger, is the other way round. family oriented and having the budget around 80 - 90k, honda city. young blood hot shot, mazda 2. brows.gif
